Well, that's certainly relevant to "aus.politics.guns".

Trivial Trevor's newest, bestest friend slithers in from that place
where anti-gun ranting is acceptable but any alternative viewpoint
isn't.

It's nice to know that firearms ownership isn't the only long held
concept anti-gunners have problems with, they also have a real problem
with freedom of speech, if they don't like what you're saying.

How is Dorothy by the way Keefy?

What's the process involved in getting hold of a gun?
Can you just go in a shop and buy one?
Depends on the laws in your part of the world.

Is it legal to shoot dipshits who spew off-topic crap into
inappropriate newsgroups?

I don't think so,
Damn.

Have a guess.

I recently reviewed the new Microchip PICkit3 compared to the old PICkit2
and pretty much hammered the people responsible on behalf of those who have
found the PICkit3 upgrade rather lacking:
http://www.eevblog.com/2009/10/21/eevblog-39-pickit-3-programmerdebugger-review/

At it turns out, not surprisingly the video made it's way all around the
Microchip offices, even to the desk of their CEO.
As with any multi billion dollar corporation, I expected either deathly
silence or a nasty letter from their lawyers.

But it turns out Microchip really do care about their products and
customers, and really do listen, so they seriously took it as constructive
criticism.

So not only was my blog well received at Microchip, I got a lengthy call
from none other than the Microchip CEO Steve Sanghi, thanking me for the
blog and raising the issues. He pointed out a few factual errors which was
fair enough, but admitted they could have done the PICkit 3 better and most
importantly are working to fix the issues and give customers what they
expect.

They have even posted this hillarious video response in record time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YUvlrVlNao

I am absolutely blown away by their honesty and responsiveness, and it
starts from their CEO down.
Two thumbs up to Steve Sanghi and the guys and gals at Microchip!

Dave.
I belive it. I've been to Microchip in Arizona, presented at the Masters
Conference and met several of their guys (working on the dsPic
architecture). They are very responsive and open. I even had one of my
suggestions incorporated into the architecture.

R.a.o. has no on topic, everything BUT audio is fair game.

Gun control is people control, ultimately. Moreover, and more to the
point, it's about who has the guns and may do what to whom.

Gun control took over in Australia when that effectively small island
nation became in effect a vaginocracy. Female rule is the rule of
abstract notions of safety and security which are often at great
variance with reality, very especially when that reality is filtered
by the usual suspects-a media of mass information and entertainment
dedicated to the growth of big, overwhelming state control by special
interests.

John Knox wrote a diatribe in 1558 against feminocracy, and to those
of us who do not hold the tenets of Christianity as literal truth, it
may seem ridiculous today. However, in his day, Christianity was still
Western Christianity, adapted to his peculiar people, and ours (I
presume here that Australian readers are, at least overwhelmingly, of
European descent). Therefore, I believe a reading of his text will
still have some validity to us half a millennium later.

The majority of females in Australia may not have a great interest in
gun control per se one way or another: some will undoubtedly and
sensibly feel they should be allowed to carry a firearm in the cities
as protection against crime, and rural ones may even more think that
anyone in a country such as Australia, with its lethal fauna in
abundance, should be carrying an effective firearm. But that isn't the
point. Organized feminist doctrine wants men disarmed so they are at
the mercy of the Nanny State in all things, in which feminists,
sodomites, halfwits, and members of influential alien minorities have
disproportionate if not absolute control.

The feminine spirit has had disproportionate sway in Australia for
most of a century. The basic mentality is that of "cutting down the
tall poppies", of enforced egalitarianism, of an over powering
atmosphere of Scargill mentality trade unionism and a contempt of
anyone who would change the extant order for good or ill, except to
the extent those wanting change could enforce the widespread universal
propaganda that this or that particular change was really staying the
same, that keeping things as they were would really be to change even
more fundamental values.

Of course, this has propagated through the entire Western world in
much the same fashion. In my nation, or what is left of it, we fancy
ourselves the lone holdout, but that can't last forever. It has
already broken down in a great number of ways. In my opinion,
regaining manly virtue is key to our survival as a people everywhere
our people dwell.
