to make a Dididit Dahdahdah Dididit sound with a spanner (or their
mobile phone) on the inside hull of a ship in an emergency.

Coz, when they drop that phone in the drink, and it's a steel ship, they
aren't going to get a very good signal.

Also prisoners, in the old films, used to communicate by

I would think Morse would be a prerequisite for all long term inmates.
Real actors in films get a 5wpm basic training course.
If they fail that, they get a ham double, thus the word ham when

I have just fixed up a 17" Acer 76i, full of Dry joints, $15 of parts and a
small Relay OC , got that for nothing from manufacturer friend..

The Dry joints cause the parts to blow, 3 Transistor and one fusible safety
resistor, the Relay coil was OC , found when I was checking around for faults,
its used for scan correction in the high scan modes..

Not a bad monitor to service but you have to drop the main board out to get at

You have always been, and always will be, completely and
utterly irrelevant. What you might or might not hate in spades.

It's already happened here in Britland, with a licence, the
M3/CB Fools' Licence. Starting off with no knowledge or
interest whatsoever and certainly no technical background, a
turnip-brain can get one of these licences within two days of
first becoming aware of Ham Radio.

No self-respecting _REAL_ Radio Ham will have anything to
do with such licensees. However, you'd be surprised at the
number of CBers-Masquerading-As-Radio-Hams who have been
brought out of the closet as the result of the Fools' Licence!

Its happening. Just not fast enough for many people. There are no-code
"HAM" licences in many countries, although they may not grant HF
privileges. Given what has been seen of the 11-meter abuse of "free to
everybody" mentality the powers that be are justifiably reluctant to
just hand over the HF spectrum with anticipation of similar
results...unless its BPL.
