The real problem you described could easily be due to a cracked
solder
joint.

Well, not quite nothing :)

But a 14 inch? Ouch!

Its time to consider upgrading to at least a 17 inch (ok, maybe a 15 inch
ifn yer on a budget)

80% smaller then back to full size again. The screen flick takes
about 1.2 a second from normal to reduced to normal again.

Utterly mindless pig ignorant drivel, as always from Phyllis.

The critical bit is 'makes a clicking sound, like static
electricity. The screen flicks with each click, looking

Thats the arcing, stupid.

No wonder you're completely unemployable.

BTW Working 14 inch PC monitors can

The V75 is a 17" monitor, cretin.

Damned fine display too, when its working.

You know f all, I service Monitors..
You know fuck all about working out what the symptoms mean.

Dry Joints,
Dont normally produce that particular set of
symptoms, particularly that 'makes a clicking
sound, like static electricity' Thats normally arcing.

Confirmed by 'he screen flicks with each click, looking
like it gets 80% smaller then back to full size again'
Cleary the EHT is dropping with the click.

The Other problem is condensation around the EHT Alta Cap..
The other problem is a failing FBT.

Not audibly like that, fuckwit cretin. And clearly given that the

It is the FBT failing, I used to work for the service agent who had the
service contract for Compaq monitors, and I think I should know.
And the V75 is a tad notorious for that failure mode too.

I do not think it is worth repairing.

What you describing is some sort of high voltage circuitry fault. Could be
FBT, could even be faulty picture tube.
