OT: An Appeal by everyone's favourite eco-loon, Greta Thunbe

You really gotta wonder where someone's head is at who uses a photo of a

educational experience effectively. Looks like it's working just fine,
to me.

I have no doubt the Trumpets will eventually end up openly calling
themselves fascist just out of spite for the left, in the way they
appropriated the name "deplorable."

In a final act of true, true stupidity.

How did the Wall Street Occupation turn out? Revolutions require

Imagine living in the United States of America, taking a photo of
students protesting fascism, using that as the cover photo and then
bitching that that students don't use their education effectively and
should become electricians, instead.

He wasn't bitching at the students with fuzzy worthless degrees, he
was laughing at them.

There's no more worthless profession than being a paid-for right-wing
pundit, hookers have a more respectable job.

Victor Davis Hanson is brilliant, a serious historian and a great
writer. I have just started his book about WWII.

The trade unions, like the electricians (and the elevator-repair-guy
union, just next door to us) have internal quality standards (and
damned fine BBQ). Few of the woke grads would make it past apprentice.

Conversely what in the world would make you think every trade union
member, electrician or plumber out there would have some bond of
brotherhood with you, or think your hoity-toity San Francisco
academic-degree scientist-man job designing machines of inscrutable
purpose to do inscrutable tasks for other science/academics was worth
more than the shit on a dog's shoe?

Try telling a plumber all about your job and the elegance of the LM1117
low dropout voltage regulator or the TL431 or something and see how fast
they tune out.

I get along great with plumbers and electricians. They are usually
friendly know a lot of stuff. They seem to like looking around our
place. The engineering part isn't very visible, but the manufacturing
is.

The fascists at Breitbart and elsewhere shouldn't be worried about what
profession the kids these days are or aren't going into. The fascists
are going to fucking die! "the kids these days" are going to burn the
boomer's whole white supremacist world to the ground, and them with it.

Peace, love, freedom, happiness.

Put about a dozen farmers or a dozen electricians into a pitched
battle with a like number of woke college grads, and see who walks
away.

There won't be any "pitched battles" the only thing wingnuts and
Trumpets know how to do is shoot up synagogues and gun down children in
schools and Mexicans in Wal Marts.

One shoot-everything-that-moves massacre of civilians large enough by
some fuckhead in a MAGA hat and video of him putting rounds into
children while he shouts Trump's name to the heavens and nobody will
ever dare step outside in pubic in one again.

What's your degree?

No, it takes a good grasp of a subject, determination & focussed work to get a bright future. She shows no trace of the first of those.

NT has this persistent delusion that he has a good grasp of the subjects he pontificates about.

I challenged him to produce a line by line analysis of Greta Thurnberg's address to the UN that picks out any deviation from scientific orthodoxy.

His response was "Lol, someone else can waste their time on her rubbish if they want. And Bill's predictable ensuing bs. "

In other words he can't demonstrate that it is rubbish. He makes that kind of claim all the time, and never delivers the supporting arguments that even try to validate it.

Let's see Phil Alliosn or NT produce a line by line analysis that picks out any deviation from scientific orthodoxy.

Lol, someone else can waste their time on her rubbish if they want. And Bill's predictable ensuing bs.

She is clearly manipulated by the greenwash movement, but it's just as much a chance for her to make a career out of it. It's not one sided.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change isn't any kind of greenwash movement. The point she was making was that if we don't reduce our rate of CO2 emission, she will be growing up in a world where her career choices will be severely limited.

NT is blind to any of that.

> People will soon tire of her current antics, but if wise she will learn & transition to a more fact (or at least plausible claim) based approach. Whether she has the sense & sanity to do that is open to question.

NT lacks the sense and sanity to notice that her approach is based on very well established facts. Denialist propaganda is aimed at people like NT who swallow all kinds of plausible nonsense. The OP for this thread - Cursitor Doom - is similarly gullible, and John Larkin - who has just weighed in with a quote from Breitbart - takes his opinions on climate change directly from Anthony Watts.

Trade skills are real, and not everybody can acquire them. There are other skills that aren't useful in fixing elevators or wiring.

John Larkin's point of view seems to be that he is perfect, and other human beings should be ranked on the basis of their resemblance to him. That fact that he likes Donald Trump does illustrate what's wrogn with this approach.

The fascists at Breitbart and elsewhere shouldn't be worried about what

Sea levels are rising - but not very fast. The problem is that Greenland ice sheet represents about six metres of sea level rise, and the

The West Antarctic ice sheet seems to have done it quite recently - some 10,000 years ago - which makes it possible that it could do it again sometime soon.
