This whole thing is an artifact of the 24-hour news cycle
and lame reporters.
Senator Inhofe got it right when he said he was "outraged at the outrage".
If Saddaam's guys were still in charge of this prison,
these prisoners would beg to receive this kind of treatment.

We need to start taking religion into account.
If a guy is going to kill himself in the process of attacking you,
what can you do to convince him it's a bad idea?
Wrap his corpse in pigskin before you bury it.
The word I get is that it worked on the Moros.
Moors?

I'm interested in your theory because I've suggested something similar
in the past, except I then wanted to run the combination thru a meat
grinder, and shown on Al Jezeera TV ;-)

Did it really work with the Moors? Cite?

OK: launch a fast (say, 250 ps) pulse into a transmission line on a PC
board. At each of numerous taps along the way, plop a Gilbert cell
multiplier, or maybe just a differential pair, and sum all those
outputs. Program the multiplier inputs or the diff pair emitter
currents with a bunch of DACs. So we're summing a cluster of
evenly-spaced-in-time impulses of individually programmable amplitude,
and, after a bit of filtering, can make all sorts of interesting
waveforms. The problems are 1) where to get lots of small, cheap, fast
multipliers and 2) transmission line losses.

Actually, I'm shipping a rackmount version of something like this for
laser modulation - a real beast - but I really want to make a
little-bitty one for another application, maybe 10 ns of total delay,
40 taps. Not easy in real life. Is there any equivalent integrated
device?

I'm using a six-stage shift-register clocked at 66MHz driving weighted
current mirrors into a limited integrator to process 11MBit data-rate
CMOS logic into a Gaussian-smoothed approximation before going to the
bipolar modulator (Gilbert-cell with a linear bottom input).

Simulation waveform looks just like out of the text books !!

that's the ... part. Actually many fish are carnivorous. I have a
few in my saltwater tank. But I eat lots of fish, shellfish, just
about anything that can't move too fast ;-)
Yeah, Jim, that was supposed to be what my joke was about - if
you "only" eat vegetarians, then you wouldn't eat fish, since
who the heck ever even heard of an herbivorous fish? Even baleen
whales, (which aren't fish, as we all know) eat krill, which is
animals.

Hmm - I imagine there must be _some_ kind of seafood that eats
kelp or something.

And aren't pigs omnivorous? I've heard that they'll eat almost
anything that a human will. :)

Cheers!

Nope. I spelled it right this time.

No. You leave enough of them so you can make out which end is the ass
and you point that toward Mecca when you bury them.

After the Spanish-American War
there war a rebel group in the Phillippines who were Muslim.
I remembered seeing this in a (I think Tyrone Power) movie when I was a kid.

Our guys also went to larger caliber weapons
because the natives would get hopped up on the local narcotic plant
and were hard to stop at a full run.

Joking around aside, there actually exists a reason why someone who
can killfile would still not want to be insulted by name. More and
more employers are conducting searches on people's posts before
hiring them, and a post with your name in the title could cause some
pointy haired boss to throw away your application instead of passing
it on to the engineering department.

Personally, I wouldn't hire someone who is dumb enough to use their real
name on usenet and then complain about the inevitable consequences.
That's marginally interesting - I wouldn't work for someone who's
dumb enough to use USENET usage as a hiring criterion.

Cheers!

What...are there no chicken parts available there? How hard could it be
to make your own hotwings, they're only chicken wings. Just search the
net for a few recipes and try them out. The key to cooking is to
experiment and don't measure everything precisely. I've never made any
Buffalo wings before, but I bet I could do it without even looking at a
recipe. I'm not saying that they'd be the best ones you ever ate. That
might take a few tries. ;-)

On Topic:
Cooking is allot like electronics design. There are basic rules and the
rest is all a matter of style.

I have a cow-orker who looked up _me_ in some search engine (probably

surprised. Can't imagine why this guy, who's somewhat of a twit, is so

possible, I'm afraid.

While I appreciate the desire to not accommodate Google's broken
