You obviously know nothing about sarcasm.

The ballboys (and girls, just in case you have trouble telling the
difference between them) are _not_ the tennis players and the

No? Here's a hint: ...you're not a player, you're an inconsequential
shit-shoveler.

Here's a hint for you, dipshit... one more time... Engineer.

Notice that vast amounts of text from the previous post is not
re-posted
(blockquoted).

There was recently a ridiculous squabble
as to whether it was proper to add you comment above or below the
existing text.

And all the pedantic rest - - -

And didn't everyone rise to this one.

I guess old JeffM got what he was looking for, a total, abusive, swearing,
bitching, cat fighting slug fest.

Doesn't anyone here know when you are being wound up? Look back over this
thread. It's like a squabble in a kindergarten.

---
Gee, Sarge, I guess we all ought to straighten up and fly right now that
you've reprimanded us and reminded us about how proper ladies and
gentlemen are supposed to behave?
---

Anyway, this thread has nothing to do with electronics, basic or otherwise

---
Including what you've just written...
---

and it's received far more attention than any of the real posts to this
group.

---
Well, since this is an electronics newsgroup, I suspect that imaginary
posts are just as necessary as real ones, especially if they bound the
real ones in quadrature.
---

If you really want to avoid wasting bandwidth, may I suggest
ignoring such obvious invitations to fractiousness as that provided by
JeffM.

---
I prefer to ignore suggestions that unruliness should be eschewed.
---

I'm not going to contribute further to this thread, even though I expect to
be flamed by the more easily aroused of you, except to say that far to many
of you are acting like children.

---
Hey, Sarge, It's not an act!

BTW, if you expect to be flamed for posting a "contribution" and you go
ahead and post it anyway maybe that means you're spoiling for a fight?

Sorry you can't reply since you said you weren't going to contribute
further to this thread, but maybe you can start a new one.

Damn! The old bastard has a little insight, after all.

Doesn't sound to me like that's making the world a better place, but
then with your inconsistencies I'm sure "better" is an unquantifiable
variable.

We have plants in several countries. The economy is in recovery, or
are you not up on current events?

---
Yeah, I am, and I haven't seen a single reference, anywhere, about you
being the cause of it.

Didn't they teach you about capitalism, Johnny?
---
Sure they did Darky, and I listened.

That's how come I've been running a successful business for over 20
years.

Engineer? Please! You have no credentials. You may be called an
engineer, but you aren't on in any way. You've been called on
this *many* times and simply wiggle.

Yes, you do.
I'm sorry, but do you have any idea how childish that sounds?

It's like the old "I know you are, you said you are, so what am I?"
comeback, which makes people just give up because it's so bad.

Hey Jeff , I have been noticing that you're somewhat like the newsgroup
governor in here and I was wondering if you could start teaching me a little
about electronics for my upcoming class in the spring semester and by the
way that is my major, EET.

Adding to the OP, I think it's especially cute
when folks feel they have to label the text as snipped,
as if asking for permission.

here's a not so paper-thin opinion. one of those links suggested marking
the snipped texts as such. it's not asking permission, it's just doing
so and noting that it was done.

i don't suppose it adds anything to the post, however.

That newsreader software, as a convenience to its user,
blockquotes the whole damned previous post is a major source of the
problem.
with mine you can mute quoted text and set limits on # of lines, but the
muted text shows up in the follow-up in case you want/need it.

Gosh, does Jeff know anything about electronics?

John

Well, John can you assist me in learning about electronics? I would surely
appreciate it! I really need to learn as much as I can so that I may be
prepared when it comes time to start my electronics classes! Thank you John

Try going to a few websites first, see if you can teach yourself anything.
(I'm not saying you shouldn't ask for help, but a newsgroup probably isn't
the best way to give lessons. It's up to Jeff what he wants to do though.)
