does that mean if goes negative if you freeze it ?

Well, because in a week of posting to any newsgroup, you inbox starts to
be deluged with spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam,

So most people just mangle it a bit and hope that the carbon based

ones trying to send you spam.

I noticed recently that the spammers are now starting to "create" email
addresses from other information in the headers, including parts of your

Umm, doesn't logically follow.

And it is simply a piece of printed plexi in front of a compact fluro light

interchangeable pieces of plexi to change the image. From inspecting the

You could probably achieve something that looks similar by printing
onto a transparency and putting it behind clear plexi.

For large runs probably screen or offset printed.

for small runs laser printed as a mirror image onto "trasfer paper" and
ironed onto the plastic, or printed direct to the plastic (which would
be something heat resistant) using a suitable laser printer (straight
path and adjustable for stock thickness)

Another option would be to print to transprency film and to bond that to the
front of the plastic.

Thanks for the offer John.

After further searching and looking at the specs I ended writing s/w
for an Atmel 2313 to do the decoding and display - only want to
display one piece of data at a time on a test unit - and I was going
to have to use something to convert the data into sensible outputs
anyway.

Once again , thanks

Alan

err, I was actually interested in doing some of the maths (again) to
gently get the brain working. It has been about 15 years since I last
did any serious study. The problem is going to be "wait a minute, you
have a maths exemption from previous study" {:)

All I've done in the last three years is exams that consisted of 6
multiple choice questions (4 options).

get a list of all the modules and post them here.
It actually took 2 years to get some one to finally supply a full list
of possible modules (you then have to find a college offering the
module), but it is too long to transcribe all 6 pages.

Oten (correspondence) only offers a few useful subjects and lots of
engineering management, quality management, job seeking, negotiation,
etc options.

What I was trying to determine was if I stood a chance of convincing the
actual TAFE college offering the other subjects to allow me to enrol,
and work at my own pace, without having to attend each week. I know it
will depend on the subject, but surely there must be more subjects than
what Oten offers.

e.g.

6032G Control programming style
6032B Industrial computer systems
7761AU Communication fundamentals (english or data)
7761R Data communications
8271S Microprocessor fundamentals
7763K Electronic software tools.

They are the Group 1 Core Modules that Oten does not offer.

On the other hand, there are 22 technician level subjects you can do
that include TV (10 subjects), VCR (5 subjects), computer monitors,
camcorders and PCB (2 subjects; design & fab) which could be practical
and worth attending.

Looks like a bumper field day. The biggest list of exhibitors is years.

All the undercover exhibitors area is fully booked with regulars, new
exhibitors and old friends from past field days returning.

Note the new parking and racecourse access arrangments to make entry
quick and easy.

For all the details www.ccarc.org.au/fieldday/
From the flyer "security personnel will be in attendance".

To control all those wild amateur types....?

Roping off the exhibits before official entry time is no fun, that's
when some of the best deals are done...

The risk is not about zapping an input, it's about zapping a telco

The law doesn't care about you zapping an input on your computer.
The isolation requirements are designed to protect people working
on telco lines, equipment, etc, from high voltages entering the
'system' via poorly constructed or faulty atached equipment.
