PRC as a amplifier in GPS question.

The wide range of brands I've seen had transformers with a
range of international voltages they could be set to inside
the copier. Unless it's a very old copier it should have
stepper motors or DC motors that are mains frequency
independent as they run off a DC supply internally.

The immense subsee Cassiterite deposits are what made the fortune of Brunei
sultan....but the present Gogology (wrongly called Geology by most)

Its concentration there proceeds indeed from of the best known True Geology
observations :
THE CYCLONIC GRANULOMETRIC PATTERN OF PLEISTOCENE SEDIMENTATION

Any clear & aware True Geologist having understood the pattern can, as well
as I can do, make the proper deduction as to where the center of
Granuometric Cyclones have been (and are still located ), and as well what
are going to be the mineral or metals of importance concentrated at the
nucleus.
.... but as the technology and know how allowing to pinpoint such huge Gold
etc subsea deposits, this is my knowledge and will be the object of my
consultancy. ( and consultancy fees of course )

The potential in Gold for the South Atlantic alone amounts to 40 millions
tons.

No future indeed for all australia mines and this of course without
anticipating the developpement of antigravitation crafts able to reach the
Belt of Aerolites in less than 6 hours, and bring back from there Gold by
the Billions of tons.... indeed as the fraudulent Gogology masquerading as
Geology ignores, it is that the center of each planet is made of Gold
( Hence the overall density of the Earth 5.4)

.....but only True Geologists again can have such understanding ... this is
why I easily found while in australia over 20 mineral deposits
( not matching though the achievement of my ancestor who in the XVII century
found over 100 mines in France, Brabant, Bohemia & Germany ... but who
though ended up at La Bastille upon presenting the arrears bill to the
French King )

Anyway, in a forthcoming post ( may be yes may be not) I will demonstrate
that Australian Coal & Oil has no future either !

removed and when recovered the Frenchman went back to his post, fighting as
an infantry man under Wellington against his French compatriots!

Can't help you there but I do know there is untold wealth ready to be
mined when the maritime laws on ownership are established. It is my
understanding that's what put a stop to the Sedco 445 doing anymore
exploration.

I remember the 445 well, nearly got killed on it. And it had Nigerian
labour on it when it was being trialed for ocean mining. Those dirty
bastards would piss and shit anywhere and actually cooked on the open
deck. When urine gets into the plates you can never get rid of it and
the whole ship stunk despite three weeks in Singapore trying to clean
it.

Well seen Sir,

I HAVE WORKED OUT THAT IN THE WORSE CONDITIONS SOME 100 TONS OF GOLD

pretty standard issue deal, few capacitors on a motherboard have rabies
and are frothing at the caps and the thing no longer works. Assuming no
damage has been done to surrounding/other components, i figure it will
work if replaced. However, i don't have a regular account with places like
farnell, and jaycar and DSE don't stock the specific value. i figured
increasing the value wouldn't hurt too much, would that be a correct
assumption?

they are 3300uf 10v, rated to 105degC, 5mm leg pitch, 10.25mm wide ~28mm
tall. the have a reasonably small amount of breathing room around them for
a fatter component if required.

Jaycar and DSE (lol) don't stock the right values, and as i dont do this
kind of thing too often i'm not sure where else to look that i can get
reasonably swiftly (like tomorrow) from a retail outlet of some kind (in
Sydney, inner west preferred)

I know that RS is somewhere out near smithfield, unless that's just a
warehouse, and Farnell being at Chester Hill is a fair drive, but i think
WES as suggested by Phil Allison is probably closest to me. If they're out
of stock thats my bad luck, but won't know until i go.

You don't need an account for Farnell & RS, you can just rock up at the
trade counter, but you'll have to wait 15-20min while they get it. Best
to phone through and ask for a "cash sale" to be picked up at the trade
counter, then it's ready when you get there.
Some nice bargains to be had at the trade counters too, excess and
discontinued stock, sometimes at giveaway prices.
Don't know if they are open weekends though.

My Rotel audio CD player has started to skip a little bit of the music
occasionally. It is usually at the same place on the disc each time.
It skips on some brand-new discs as well as on some old disks. Those
same discs do not skip when played on another, identical, Rotel player.
I wonder if the lens in the unit is dirty, and if so, do lens-cleaning
discs actually work? Is there any difference between cleaners
described as DVD lens cleaners and cleaners described as CD lens
cleaners?
As always, I would be grateful for any help.

**Waste of time. Use a proper lens cleaner, such as the type used in
camera work. Whilst it may help, it is highly likely that the laser is
buggered and requires replacement.

Thanks for your thoughts.
If I could get to the lens without major surgery, I would try try to
clean the lens.

**Huh? Which model Rotel? Except for the horrible multi-disk player, using
the Nakamichi loading system (RCC955?), they're all easy to work on.

I doubt if I could find anyone who could replace the laser. I think the
only thing I could replace is the entire player.

**Which model? Most Rotels (except for the previously mentioned model)
were easy to work on. Some, like the RCD965 are expensive on lasers. Most
of the rest are reasonably priced.

I have a Sharp TV, model SX80J9. It was bought in 2000.
It has four inputs, TV, AV1, AV2, AV3.
AV1 is used for the VCR and AV2 is used for the DVD.
At the back of the set there is provision for stereo Audio Out.

** Simple two ch. analogue signal.

If the program being played, (whether from TV, VCR, or DVD) is encoded
with surround sound, is the output from the Audio Out jacks encoded for
surround sound?
** Huh ? Define ?

In other words, can the sound from these Audio Out jacks go straight to a
surround sound amplifier and be decoded by it for 5.1 surround sound?

** Nope.

5.1 Dolby surround is a digital signal - normally provided via a optical
( Toslink) or single RCA jack via co-ax cable.

The DVD player will have one or both such on the back.

No.
You can only get surround from a 2 channel source if your processor has
"Dolby Surround" and the source material is encoded as such. But Dolby
Surround is NOT 5.1
Otherwise you will have to use Dolby ProLogic II to get "simulated" 5.1
surround. PLII does a pretty darn good job though.

You have to connect your DVD player directly to your surround amp via
digital coax or optical cable. Connecting a DVD player via the normal
stereo jacks would be silly as you'd lose all the nice Dolby Digital
encoding which most DVD's have.

A usual surround setup will use the surround receiver as the input
switching system and the TV as simply the "output" device. That way the
receiver can choose the best decoding method from the source it has
available. eg. you'd connect your STB, VCR, DVD, XBox/PS2 into the
surround receiver inputs, and let the receiver do all the video and
audio switching.

I was on about the idea of a 2K74 or 976R resistor versus 2K7 and 1K. Like
the numbers imply 0%1 (snicker) resistors what no-one is going to specify
in
a design but they appear in application notes in places where no-one would
specify them.
2K74 is a standard value for 2% tolerance or better resistors (EIA preferred
value for the E48 or higher range) 976R is a standard value for 1% or better
resistors (EIA 96 or higher range). These values were derived by choosing
a set of values whereby the bands of resistance given by the nominal value
+/- the tolerances just overlap, giving 6, 12, 24, 48, 96, or 192 values per
decade (e.g. between 100 Ohms and 1K) for E6, E12, E24, E48, E96 and E192
ranges respectively. E96 is pretty common now as it makes sense for 1%
resistors. E192 is used for tighter than 1% tolerances.

Cheers,
Alf

That suggest that it dust on the lens. Was it a wet cleaning
kit as they seem to work best for me. Use a sponge cleaning
stick, air or camera brush or cloth and not a cotton bud to
clean the lens. Cotton buds tend to create more dust and fluff
than they remove.

If you are lucky you may find that, as I often do, it is a human
hair (eyelash?) caught in the mechanism that holds the lens and
it can be removed with a pair of tweezers. I guess they often
fall onto CDs without us knowing.

Hi

I have with no success called F&P Aust asking them what the following
error code may indicate - they suggested making sure the water hose was
not kinked <cringe

Error - Wash lights ON are the 3rd 6th 7th & 8th light with a single
beep every second.

Description of events leading upto the error;

Power on
Initiate std wash cycle (med water, cold water)
Tub fills to low level marker on agitator arm
Bowl agitates slightly for 1 minute (or so)
then error lights come up - only way to stop error code is to power
off the machine.

I post to this group as I see in the past people have posted about F&P
washing machines.

I have checked the water level tube and made sure not obstructed (and
blew thru it to endure clear), ran some local spare parts places as
well, not to successful there as well.

I have a suspicion it may have to do with the water level part of the
machine.

Thanks in advance if you can help shed some light on the error code.

Jimmy
