There may be some common thing. Mass shootings have been increasing
since the early 1980s.

I do see reports on horrible weekends in Chicago, where 15 are dead,
30 shot, etc.

increased in the 90s and early 2000s the violent crime rate has gone
down, not up.

The Mafia and organized crime of the Caucasian kind which had a
stranglehold on e.g. many areas of Providence getting run out of their
usual neighborhoods as they became more "ethnic" actually helped, the
Mafia ran that city (into the ground) for decades.

that he was being treated for mental illness, which the police did, the
school he recently attended knew he had serious problems, but he just
walked right on into Dick's and bought his gun, because there was no
permit process. Had there been a simple permit process where the local
police do a background check and the permit can be denied when the police
chief believes it's a safety threat to the public, he never would have
been able to buy guns at Dick;s.

Maybe we should look at what the El Paso guy actually said? He left
a white supremacy manifesto, making it clear why he did it. He also
had a good mix of some good lib hate stuff, like you'd find from
Occupy Wall Street, Bernie, Warren and similar tossed in. He attacked
corporations as evil, claimed no one can get a job, the whole US is
unfair, no one can afford college, there are no good jobs, etc.

Here's a thought:
Instead of calling them "shooters", let's call them "murderers".
I have several weapons, and went to the gun range last weekend to shoot.
But I'm not a murderer.
