Trump has run the US response to the Covid-19 epidemic so ineptly that the US now has more case and more deaths than anywhere else, despite the fact that there are countries around that had managed to pretty much stop the epidemic before the US had even started seeing community transmission.

It's remarkably poor performance for what is supposed to be an advanced industrial country.

Australia has done much better, after a rather inept start.

US exceptionalism looks for every possible excuse. Flyguy hasn't noticed that China is much bigger than the US, and managed to contained their epidemic to Hubei Province, which is of the same sort of size as New York State, without haveing nearly as many people end up dead.
