This also goes back to a few things that we have to consider, even the staunchest of conservatives. First of all the OP quoted someone so it is not right to castrate him for it. But he is misinformed. We cannot keep Spanish out of the country. First of all in the beginning there were people who could speak Spanish and they were valued. In the beginning some of the Natives were more familiar with Spanish than English. People went across the border at will, and outlaws went down and outlaws went up.

English IS the official language of the united States, not by proclamation, but by virtue of the fact that the Constitution was written in English. It is prima facie evidence which means it is right there in front of you.

However, no half decent conservative would want our sons and daughters to be at a disadvantage so if I had kids they would be taking multiple languages. And think of how that expands the mind. The different syntax' and sentence structure, some put the adjective after the noun and all that, Polish has 12 tenses of a word. You get about an eight year old to pay attention to that you are raising a winner. You HAVE to be able to communicate internationally and though English is thought of as a universal language, don't take that to the bank. (marke numero duo por espanol)

when my people came here they supported their own fucking "anchor babies", not the government. They learned the language and skills required to get good jobs in this country and ASSIMILATED. They did not try to change this country, they changed to adapt to this country. After all, this is where they wanted to be.

It's a much different place now for sure. The WASPs have mostly gone.
The blacks were there but are leaving for the suburbs. Hispanics are
there and Asians are moving in and the young whites are moving back now
that there's an organic grocery store

They were still lynching blacks in the South in the 40s. and 50s. and
60s. and 70s. and 80s.
