Actually most of those drugs are made by US manufacturers, imported
to
Canada for sale, and sold back to the states, for LESS then those same
drugs
are available for sale in the states. Go figure. Since I don't work in
that
industry I don't really care though.

Sure you do. If they change the current laws governing the drug
companies, drug prices in Canada will go you as well. Current law
allows them to be sold at lower cost to less developed countries, and
americans have to pay all the development costs. New legislation would
spread that cost to all users. You could see drug prices double or
triple overnight if it is passed.
Hehe, I don't pay for drugs, it's covered by insurance, so again, I
don't care. Plus, we have alot of "third party" drug makers, if the US
causes drug prices to jump 3 times you can bet our government will allow
those third party makers to make the drugs for the "correct" price. We've
already "hinted" at the possibility in the past.

The third party, or generic drugs are made under license to the
company that develops the drug, or after the patent has expired. Either
way, the other drug companies will pay higher license fees or spend
billions on drug research.

Go ahead and make your own, we don't care. Your insurance cost will
either go way up, or the formulary of approved drugs will be drastically
reduced till you can't get much more than aspirin or penicillin, and
other, older drugs that are past the life of the patents.

So did your "insurance" just appear and begin giving out services at
no cost to anyone? Doubtfull. Someone pays for that insurance and it ain't
the government. They only act as the middle man. You pay for this
"insurance" through taxes.
Lou, you quoted me instead of "Repatch"

Actually I'm talking about generic drugs produced WITHOUT the consent of
the original company.

You obviously don't understand what I'm talking about.

Exactly, which means the government will do anything in their power to
reduce costs, and a government has alot of power to reduce costs.

In theory yes. They also have the power to raise taxes, go to be with
special interests, be inept, not understand basic economics and to do
nothing.
