3D printing of PCBs?

So you've no idea what the average PC is either.

No.. I am saying that you do not.

I'd say right now, not counting college student new purchases, which
are all likely at the i7 or higher level, I'd say an average joe bloe
old guy household where he could give a shit about computers (but
doesn't) runs about at an i5 level or higher.

You have no idea.

There is one OS I think is extra slow - Vista. It takes minutes to
CLOSE Firefox. Even the GUI is slow, go into a text area and it is
like a whole second sometimes before the cursor changes. And
booting ? Go buy a new car and take a trip for a few days.

Referencing an obsolete, failed OS that will not even run on today's
hardware is a fail.

Firefox pukes on it because ...

Well, Vista was always a transitional problem child, it didn't accumulate enough
patches to help, and it was released in the middle of the 'capacitor plague' so
many of its target machines are landfill now.

But, Firefox pukes because it relies on OS support, and only a few versions
EVER worked on Vista. The combination of hardware, OS-supplied libraries,
and OS 'hooks' for other interconnection (file systems, etc.) has been
spread over so many secretive companies and closeted groups that the results are often
chaos.

Everybody who knows there's a problem, knows it's someone else's problem...

The ultimate solution that Microsoft can support, is "buy an upgrade; our sales staff is online".
Apple is no better, alas, and Android is worse. Linux is the closest thing to future-proof
and works-with-legacies, but isn't perfect either.

I don't get why so many people dis Vista. Once I turned off the thingie (I forget the name of it) that provided the same security that XP had but defaulted to disabled, it was fine. I never had any trouble with Vista or drivers. But then I didn't have a printer that stopped working because the manufacturer wouldn't update the drivers.

We had one of their beta units at my previous job. That was around 2016-2017.

From what I understand, their original product is actually the silver dye, and they sell the printers to sell their dye. Our printer was pretty finicky; it would cycle on/off all day to keep itself from clogging, and sometimes still get clogged. I have no idea how much the printers have improved since then, if at all.

There are two problems with the PCBs that will make them a non-starter for a lot of people. The material is not very sturdy, if you try to flex it it will break in half (maybe comparable to a thick potato chip). Second problem is that the boards warp when heated, enough so that using hot air or infrared is out of the question; hand soldering only. We always wondered about trying to heat it equally from all sides but never got around to trying it.

It's really hard to imagine a space where it becomes beneficial over ordering quick/cheap boards from China, or doing deadbug breadboards.

Linux is the best. I was not making that argument.

I was jumping on stupid Windows bashing.

And yes, fully updated, it is actually pretty safe. Workstation Pro
level anyway.

But I run both.

Their 4-layer coupon sample board takes 7 hours to print. One serious
multilayer might take days.

I'd be concerned about defects, solder adhesion, and crosstalk.

I have not used it, but saw things similar at the Orlando FabTECH show.
Worth a visit, but I think the next one is in Chicago?

Anyway, I'm old. (-ish). And lazy.
So I get a tech to do the Gerbers and send them off to JLBPCB.
A week later, perfect boards are here - at ridiculously low cost.

PCBWAY does nice multilayer boards and stencils cheap, in 5 days.

I posted this because I couldn't see any real value to the process. I would also be concerned about the resistance of printed traces.
