I love to cook with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

Well, at least it wasn't your youngest one.

You know you are getting old when you have a definite opinion

I knew when I was in a bus, some kids were having fun, I was laughing.
Then one said to the other, see (he understands), that man was once young too.
I came out an old man...

Shouldn't the king of the killfile at least have put "OT" at the start
of this ego-tastic, monumentally off-topic post?

Tim, expecting to be plonked by Jim again, with gratuitous notice.

I was in the music store the other day and a woman was shopping with her
young grand-daughter. There was a life-size cut-out of Elvis Presley as part
of some sale or promotion. Grand-daughter asks grandmother about man with
funny haircut. Grand-mother replies, "Oh, he was one of the singers Grandma
listened to when she was a girl."

!!!!!

Yikes! Grandmothers are supposed to have fond memories of Rudolph Valentino
and Bing Crosby and Guy Lombardo, not Elvis!!

I felt old..............

You can't even tell "monumentally off-topic" posts by the subject lines?

Usually, but the subject line for this thread could also apply to
obsolete parts, simulation models or practices which are actually
related to electronics.

I think it's a fair assumption that at least a *new* thread unrelated
to electronics would make itself apparent in these groups, even if
history shows threads frequently go off-topic.

sci.electronics.misc I can accept, but for a.b.s.e, s.e.cad and s.e.d
it's almost as irrelevant as most of the crap I post. That's an insult
and a half :*)

How about the insult of being asked if you want the senior discount nearly
ten years early, but struggling with the enigma of deciding whether to
express your disgust, or keeping quiet to receive the discount and satisfy
the thirst for frugality?

Hell, go for the money!!!

I remember being asked to slouch down in the seat and look little so the
streetcar conductor would only charge my mother half-fare for me. I am
delighted to see that the same technique works at the other end of the age
spectrum!

Your not getting old! You'r getting better!

Just remember they aren't graduating many new analog experts these days!

My own record? Son #1 is 38, son #2 is 36, grandchildren none!

What? Damned birth control!

I know the feeling. I was half way through 11th grade when my brother
was born. He's a Navy Cmdr. now, turned 40 this month.

I was fine in such situations until my facial hair started sprouting
a bunch of bone white hairs intermingled with the rest...

It's character building.
