Solutions are different for every reader. You appear to be running
Outlook, which I don't recommend, but I don't use Windows so I don't
know what to recommend. A lot of people seem to be using Mozilla,

heard of. I don't have the slightest clue what has the best filter
functionality.

Anyway, you may have the option in something like Rules Wizard, to
select and ignore articles based on the 'References:' and 'Message-ID:'
headers, probably expressed in more abstract terms, though.

The filter rule to you could use in tin to eliminate posts from where
that guy (whose name I forget) posts from, and any post that is within
four follow-ups of it is this:

group=sci.electronics.*
case=0
score=kill
msgid=<.*@armory.com>( *<[^>]*&gt{0,3} *$

This suits the assumption that after four follow-ups the discussion is
no longer in the line of "you suck"/"no you suck" and may be worth
reading.

For some people it may be worth filtering discussions between certain
people while not normally filtering either of them individually. I
expect that's probably the usual case, in fact. I can't be bothered
trying to develop an expression for that, though, because I wouldn't use
it myself (I only read-select certain threads and ignore a lot of other
stuff).
