I always thought killfiles a bit weak because of that. If you read
every message anyway then you're likely to have read everything anyway
because it was quoted by someone else.

tin, and presumably other newsreaders, can filter on message-id and
references, so sometimes (when the static message-id part is unique or
nearly-unique to that one poster) it's possible to filter out not only
the person, but every thread that continues from what that person said.

With a bit of trickery you should even be able to un-filter threads that
have 'washed out' your undesirable poster.

Sounds good. Has anyone any ideas about how to achieve it. If you post it
here, we'll all be able to use it.
