My father was a soldier and fought in a war it was just one of many jobs
he had over his lifetime. I doubt he could have fired a mortar again at
age 70 with any accuracy, he didn't seem to think it would be possible
either. He was always quite good at targeting with that "claw" game at
the video arcade though I could never beat him.

And my half-brother was in the Corps. And my other half-brother was Army
and went to Vietnam. And my cousin is active duty Army currently
deployed to the Middle East. And my girlfriend's father was an officer

Not buying more than one car in 50 years seems like being unkind to

A number of luxury cars in the say 10-15 year old range like e.g.
Mercedes Benz S600 (original MSRP ~$130,000) are reliable machines and
very good values when compared even against buying a 3 y/o Hyundai
Elantra, and the cost of ownership if you know how to do some of your
own maintenance can be quite low.

Some are turds, and some are excellent reliable machines that were ten
years ahead of their time when built and can be had for a relative
pittance. I wouldn't assume every one of them who drives an "expensive
car" doesn't know what they're doing.

Dress codes serve the same function, anyway, you can't turn people away
from a night club based on their sexual orientation in those places but
if someplace really wants to keep most straight men out there's no law

I didn't say I didn't own nice vehicles, I said only one was bought brand new. Let some one else pay the depreciation.

The M16 I qualified with had a damaged barrel, yet I hit 19 out of 20 moving targets. The range instructor missed 40 out of 40 targets with it. He tagged it as defective. He didn't believe me when I told him that there was no rifling left in the barrel, or that it was bent. He had to prove it to himself. That M16 was built before the Army switched the triggers to 3 or single shot action. The reason the barrels were damaged was caused by people who used them on full auto. 20rounds and a new magazine every time they fired..

His attempt to sandbag Biden has blown up in his face. John Larkin doesn't seem to be able to grasp that this was such an obviously impeachable offense that Nancy Pelosi couldn't get out of going after him.

Elizabeth Warren would be a substantial candidate. It's not clear that the American public wants a President who knows how the country needs to be improved and has the capacity to get the improvements in train. She would give Trump lots to lie about, and he does enjoy doing that, but he'd show himself up in the process.

In any case in the year 2019 there are few strictly "gay bars" or gay-only
night life establishments remaining in many small US cities; for one thing
discrimination on sex preference is illegal in almost half the states, so you
cannot discriminate against straight people entering your establishment,
either. and they hold places to that.

And also why would you want to turn away paying customers? Night life revenues
tanked after online dating became a thing all small bars and clubs that want
to stay alive need to be willing to take whomever wants to show up and spend

Dress codes serve the same function, anyway, you can't turn people away from a
night club based on their sexual orientation in those places but if someplace
really wants to keep most straight men out there's no law saying one can't
require everyone who wants to be admitted to be wearing all skin-tight leather,
and pink sunglasses.

Lol! Back in the '70s I had a friend that had a few video games and pin balls in a
lesbian club that I maintained. Very good looking gals there. They all thought we
were cool. One evening I was checking out this machine and four business men
in suits came in. They walked toward back with the biggest grins on their face like
they had died and gone to heaven. It wasn't long before they were making a rapid
exit red faced and all. I did meet one patron there who was a pinball mechanic.
She was pretty sharp with a medium skill level. It doesn't take much talent to
clean
and adjust relay contacts and such. I never liked being around gay men but the
lesbians and I generally get along well. I suppose because we both like women.

There are lesbians who are pissed that men are allowed in places they
formerly considered "their" bars and gay men who are pissed that women
are. Oh well that's the price you pay for "equality" I guess.
