Home made stun-gun coils can be had from gas stove igniter packs, they
usually come as a bank of 3 with a single primary. Some types run on a
single 1.5V cell for the inverter pcb - which can be beefed up with a bigger
transistor and up to 3 cells for a "baby stun-gun". Some types run off 230V
so you have no choice but to build your own inverter board.

The ferrite cored transformer from the SMPSU in a set top box or something
similar can be pressed into service as a blocking oscillator inverter by
using one of the low voltage windings as the collector winding. If the
original SMPSU used discrete transistors, it will have a base winding which
retains its original use.

If there is a lack of suitable windings, the blocking oscillator can be
wired in the same manner as a cheap photo-flash inverter.

A 6 volt doorbell type buzzer, four 'D' cells and an audio output
transformer make a great cattle prod, which is more effective than most
tazers. I made some as a kid, because we had a neighborhood bully who
would take toys away from kids and destroy them. He screamed like a
little girl, then ran home in tears when he could walk again after
trying to take away what looked like a homemade toy sword. :)

For a prank toy perhaps. If you want something that's going to be viable as
a stun gun you need about a joule of energy.

Typical anti-gun lobby swill.

Laurie Levy, Victorian President of the "Coalition Against uck
Shooting has previously claimed that every Victorian duck season dumps
40,000 tonnes of lead shot into Victorian wetlands.

Unfortunately, when you work out the number of cartridge that would
need to be fired for this to be true, then divide that number by the
numbre of licenced duck hunters, then work out the cost of those
cartridges to each duck hunter, you find that for this "factiod" to be
true would require every licenced duck hunting in the state of
Victoria to spend $104,000 AUD per season on cartridges?

Anyone interested may also like to Google the "Russell Method" it was
a convoluted mathematical thought process design to show how much lead
went into wetlands, and how many ducks were maimed each duck season.
It was found to be utter bullshit.

Victorian duck hunters have used "non-toxic" (ie steel or bismuth)
shot for a number of years now.

Tell me why you seem to think that lead shot is OK to leave in pristine

Easily? Go to a gun shop, let them run a Federal background check,
and buy one. Or in your case, steal one.

drunken fool.

**So?

So what? You have absolutely no clue, do you?

**I was asking what your point was. Perhaps you'd care to phrase it in
English.

You still won't understand, but it goes like this: A drunken jackass
barged into my room in the barracks while I was repairing someone's
stereo. He started yelling at me that I was breaking all kinds of BS
regulations, and 'ordered' me to stop what I was doing, or he was going
to take the soldering iron from me. I told him he could have it, then
lunged at him. He did the standing broad jump, backwards into a wall
locker and just cleared the hot tip by inches.

He then went to the CQ office to file assault charges. They told him
to go away and sleep it off, then came to my room and told me if I tried
that again, I'd better make damn sure I rammed it deep into his gut, or
they would write me up.

You are too addled to have made the connection between a hot
soldering iron, and the phrase, 'Slinging hot lead' for shooting. That
is no surprise, for a coward.

**Yes. Easily. Across the US, each year, there are hundreds of 'gun shows'.
At these 'gun shows' dealers, posing as private citizens sell thousands of
guns to criminals. They can do so, because there are virtually zero
restrictions on the sale of 'second hand' guns. Even if that gun has only
been 'second hand' for a couple of minutes and has never been fired. Here in
Australia (and pretty much the rest of the developed world) ALL gun sales
must be recorded and tracked. Even secondary sales. Such an action ensures
that fewer guns end up in the hands of criminals.

**I see. I'm the only one here who has the balls to front those who hold a
different opinion, face to face, unarmed adn _I_ am the coward? Is that
about it?

Here in Australia (and pretty much the rest of

secondary sales. Such an action ensures that fewer guns end up in the
hands of criminals.
It's more likely that fewer guns end up in the hands of law-abiding people
who, when they have the occasional brain-snaps, don't have that particular
means at hand to do as they wish.

So far as criminals are concerned, the restrictions on the sale of guns
means very little. For example, the events in Melbourne this week.
