Ever been to Provincetown Mass??? I thought San Francisco was an
eye-opener!!! The farther I got down the street, the closer I felt to Sadam
and Gomorah!

If you are going to declare it, at least look it up and spell it
correctly.

Then, refrain from being a Usenet retard by not top posting it. Doh!

Carmel, Marin, or Monterey (I took basic training at Ft. Ord) are some
of the most beautiful places along the coast. They're great for
visiting, but as far as living there, I dunno. They're right on the San
Andreas Fault. Remember that earthquake that pancaked the freeways and
broke the Bay Bridge?

I was stationed at a Nike Herc site when I was in the army back in '69.
For the most part, those Nike missile sites are closed and torn down,
except for a few that were National Guard, or were made into museums.

Many people back then didn't realize that these missile sites were all
over the place, not far from where they lived. The one I was stationed
at was in Minneapolis, close to The Mall of America.

PUNCTUATION - Apostrophe
Incorrect uses: (i) the apostrophe must not be used with a plural
where there is no possessive sense, as in ~tea's are served here~;
(ii) there is no such word as ~her's, our's, their's, your's~.

Confusions: it's = it is or it has (not 'belonging to it'); correct
uses are ~it's here~ (= it is here); ~it's gone~ (= it has gone);
but ~the dog wagged its tail~ (no apostrophe).

I sure do...October of 89!...That one cost me about 15 thousand in damage!
Take your pick from Alaska to Mexico...Quakes from top to bottom! There is a
highway that runs from San Jose to Santa Cruz called Hwy 17. You should have
seen it! A mountain moved to the center divider and about 75% of the center
divider was ripped into pieces and yes, lucky me...that was my commute
route!

My radar class at MIT visited a Nike site in New Hampshire. They
practiced by locking their radar onto commercial aircraft approaching
Logan Airport in Boston ;-)

Thing is, hurricanes and tornadoes kill hundreds of times as many
people in this country as earthquakes... so far, at least. A good Gulf
hurricane can kill hundreds of people at a whack.

My first manager was a reservist and did time on a Nike battery
in NJ. They damned near shot down a commercial jet playing such
games. They didn't have everything safed and the bird just about
flew. That would have been a big oops, considering that the Nike
had a nuke warhead (few knew it at the time). He was surprised
that I knew, since it was classified. (...how else to shoot down
incoming missles in the 60s?)

That's for sure!! For those in the LA area, or even passing through
LAX with some time to kill, I highly recommend Randy's Donuts. See
http://www.randysdonuts.com/ for info. Definitely way above average
and it's easy to find with the monster donut on top of the place and
they're even open 24 hours a day.

Billy Y..
But do they ship to the East Coast?

No, but if you drive over they'll have your order ready.
