I like the fact that open-office runs both in linux and windows. The real
problem with it is in the drawing of charts in a spread sheet. They need
to burn the existing code and start again. It takes forever to make a
plot and is real trouble to work with once it has made one.

Their spread sheet also seems to be limited to 32K rows or something like
that.

I have never needed to chart anything, ever.

I often want to graph about a 1^6 points so a chart that could do it would
be very helpful. I have my own software for the job.
What I have needed in the past is s/w that can do a really nice 2D plot, with
self scaling axes. Ideally, freeware source so I can drop it into other apps.

Have either of you considered picking some small part of Linux that
you have figured out and writing up some documantation for it?
Linux needs more ordinary users explaining things in plain language.
I have found bugs in one program I was using and sent the corrections to
the author. He thanked me nicely.

I have considered writing a small paper on how to actually make Samba
work. I searched the web and found several others had written one.

You seem to good at one thing, name calling.

Thank you. Complements much appreciated.
Your lack of understanding is legion.

I will shut up if and when I decide, you have no credibility to
recommend or to order.

Coming from you...leeev it out mate.
IT is not the issue here.

Do not ask me why.
I will not reply to questions.

You also seem to ignore what was said, or failed to understand it.
More likely the latter.

Ho humm....
So you agree. I thought as much.

Your past misconduct tells me that no matter what is said you have a
lame excuse for it. Recognized experts are 'all' wrong, only you
know because you wrote it.

You really do need to do something about your grammar. Its still
atrocious.
Yea, talking to you is really ruining my grammar. Contagious failing or meme.

Secondly, why do you persist with these lies. Show me where I claimed
that "Recognized experts are 'all' wrong".
Ah, nit picking. So they are ALL right then.

Or just ask Kevin Alward. He knows everything!

Thank you. It's downloading very slowly. But what I don't understand is
why I can't see the link on the web site. I don't think I've got
anything blocked that would cause that. Where on the page is the link
and what does it look like? The information could help with the other
problem I mentioned, which is much more important. There are about 1000
standard drafts that I can't download at present, and I need to review
at least 20% of them.

You mean a contour plot? So do I! A LOT! I've been struggling with
Mathcad, which does contours, but it's clunky and inflexible. I asked if
v.12 is any better, but it isn't.

DPLOT would possibly do it, but my plots are 100 x 100 matrices, which
it doesn't like at all.
