I saw Obama on TV, he has ask that we tell others what Obamacare has
meant me.

I has meant my insurance premium has went up by 44.4% in the last
17 months. I will see the next increase in May 2014.
I checked on the price of Obamacare, the silver plan
is comparable in price, but the copay is about $2000 higher
then the $10,000 copay I have.
Note the low priced policy I had, increased to be as expensive as
Obamacare.

Bullshit.

Now that's an interesting and really informative comment!
I wonder how you know so much about someone's insurance. Did you write
the policy for him or steal his mail or ???.

Sounds like typical liberal stuff. Can't compete on facts, so start name
calling.

I was just on the Obamacare site, They have a new box that you can
click to get prices without signing up. Before you get the prices there
are seven pages with a note telling you that the price doesn't reflect
the price because you may qualify for a subsidy, 7 pages telling you
this! Then when you get the price for the plan, they don't tell you
how high your deductible is.
Why, because for most people the large deductibles are earth shaking!!!!

For years when I told people I had a $10,000 deductible they always
thought it was terrible, I thought it was the best plan. Now Obamacare
has found, they huge deductibles to keep the premiums from being
completely unworkable. And even then they need to subsidize the premiums
for most.
Mikek
We have a problem, Obamacare is not the answer.

And that price may be incorrect. There's a CBS news report where they
tried the estimator, it was off by around 50%, that's 50% *too low* of
course.

Obamacare will save me $356/month, as I found out by spending 40 minutes signing
up, including time spend digging out my records. Of course, I live in a liberal
state that created its own exchange as the bill intended, not one of the 36
conservative states that opted out and dumped their responsibility on the
federal government site.

May 2012 I had a 19.4% increase, May 2013 I had a 21.0% increase.
Because I have a $10,000 deductible, the insurance company was not
responsible for any of my bills. I never met my deductible, I think
the most I spent was about $4,000.
I got the silver plan prices from the Kaiser site, as I recall
it was about $7200 after the taxpayer subsidy. And the copay was
around $12,000.
When I get home from work, I have the exact prices written down.
I'll post them, just for you, then.
So, no bullshit here.
Or did you mean Obama didn't want MY help?

Bullshit.

I confess to not understanding how "Obamacare" works from state to
state. I keep hearing about non-subsidized policies being available in
some states for as little as $600 for a family and about half that for
an individual.

For kicks, I visited the healthcare.gov website to check policies. It
re-directed me to the Massachusetts Health Connector website which is
where MA residents will purchase a policy under Obamacare. I entered
our basic information (but not income) to determine what the
non-subsidized plan rates are. The Bronze plan (highest deductible)
from Blue Cross is almost $300 per month more than the Blue Cross plan
we have now. The Silver plan was about $500 more. I didn't bother
looking at the Gold or Platinum plans.

So, I fully expect a letter from Blue Cross in the near future advising
us that our current plan is being canceled and we will be required to
sign up for another under the new, Obamacare pricing structures.

What was your deductible before, and what is it with Obamacare?
I'm betting the deductible will be 3 X what you were paying.

BTW, your the one Obama wanted to tell your story to friends and family.

Doubtful your May 2012 or May 2013 increases had much to do with the
ACA. I pay under $1000 a month with a $200 annual deductible for health
insurance, and I have a $10 co-pay for doctors' office visits and my
hospital bills are paid in full. I pay $5 for generic prescriptions and
20% for non-generics. Recently had cataract surgery on one eye, and my
total out of pocket charges were under $100. Same for a colonoscopy.

I'm in a group plan and am paying the full amount for an individual. If
I added a family member, it would be another $225 a month.

You are doing something wrong. Are you in a Republican state where the
governor decided not to set up a state exchange?

Not bullshit at all. If you listen to any news agency that isn't MSNBC,
you will hear story after story of this and much worse... Tens of
thousands are losing their current insurance and getting thrown into the
ACA, more are experiencing 100% of greater increase in premiums and up
to 600% in deductible.....

I know you will call names, but it won't change any of the facts....

I had more to say but, you need to qualify and defend such a wild story.

In my part of Maryland, a "platinum plan" for a family of five would run
about $1200 a month, without a tax credit. If that family income was
about $60,000 a year, the tax credit would drop that to around $750 a
month. This is a platinum plan, mind you, the best that is offered.

Not all the plans that will be offered are up on the site.
