Why do you ask \'where are the storms\'? Upstream from the floods, is the
usual place to look. This month, that\'s Pakistan.
oman
Hurricanes are a special case. It isn\'t expected that there will be more of them as anthropogenic global warming gets worse, but ...
Hey Bozo, ZERO means ZERO.
Nonsense, of course. Every hurricane season starts at zero hurricanes; we don\'t
predict them, really, but note tropical storms that turn into hurricanes, and...
we project their likely paths. There\'s no number-of-hurricanes expectation, so... just
wait for it.

When the season is over, we\'ll know times, tracks, names, and, if that\'s what
floats your boat, numbers of hurricanes.
From this year, monsoons for Pakistan and the Grand Canyon are available for
your amusement. You didn\'t ask when, you asked WHERE.
Hey, ZERO is ZERO - where ARE the storms?

The same place they were in 1914. Tropical hurricanes hurricanes don\'t happen all that often, and if the right atmospheric conditions don\'t come together, they don\'t happen.

Getting excited about it is foolish. The fact that we haven\'t seen any hurricanes so far this year may be a bit unusual, but it isn\'t any kind of indication that anthropogenic global warming has stopped in it\'s tracks.

Hey Bozo, do you know the difference between STATISTICS and a FACTOID? Apparently not because you accused me of not understanding statistics, yet you just come up with factoids. WHERE are your STATISTICS?
Where are yours? No Atlantic hurricanes this year is a single fact. The word statistics is plural, but you haven\'t made any effort to set this observation in context, so your grasp of statistical argument is non-existent. Statistical reasoning - or actually any kind of reasoning - is equally beyond you.

which shows up 1914 and 1907 as years without any Atlantic hurricanes.

You can check on monitored disturbances that can turn into Atlantic hurricanes

but it\'s not showing anything interesting now.
So my original advice remains: wait for it.

Not just mine but every statistician back to R.A. Fisher.

> Well, that would be, at best, a first grade statistic. Zero storms is ANOTHER statistic then, Bozo, but you were definitely not thinking it was.

Zero Atlantic hurricanes this year, so far, is a statistical observation. It doesn\'t mean anything at all until compared with similar statistic for previous years, which you failed to provide, and I did. The record includes five years when there were hurricane in November, and only two - 1914 and 1907 - when there weren\'t any at all.

As an indication that anthropogenic global warming might have gone into reverse it\'s rather less than persuasive.

Why do you ask \'where are the storms\'? Upstream from the
floods, is the usual place to look. This month, that\'s
Pakistan.

I ask because ALL the alarmists say is that we will have MORE
and STRONGER storms, so WHERE ARE THEY???

Well, you would first need to wipe all the TrumpShitSmear off
your face and eyes, because it is your horse blinders.

The weather has changed. You must have been stinking under a rock
for the last 3 decades.
No... wait... you were stinking up Donald John Trump\'s fat skanky
ass. Even worse. You stink, boy.

I see that Decayed Brain Matter is so far submerged in her
shit-filled gutter that she can\'t explain why the storms aren\'t
appearing.

You cannot explain why your retarded statistic does not matter. I can..

Well, you DIDN\'T.

Not in any way that Gnatguy could understand. Gnatguy is close enough to brain dead that it\'s difficult to present information in a way that he could follow, and he\'s remarkably resistant to processing information that might force him to recognise that he\'d got anything wrong, Most of what he posts is wrong, which compounds the problem.

Liar.

http://tropical.atmos.colostate.edu/Realtime/index.php?arch&loc=northatlantic

Once you\'ve got the statistics you can process them to extract trends, but when they are as sparse as north Atlantic hurricane numbers, it\'s scarcely worth the effort.

Nobody teaches that kind of statistical analysis in grade school - I got permutations and combinations in final year mathematics in secondary school in Tasmania, but my undergraduate companions in Victoria, where I went to university, weren\'t so lucky. The subject did show up in Theory of Computation 1 when I took it as a graduate student, but it still isn\'t statistics.

Of course I\'ve now got my father\'s copy of George W Snedecor\'s 1949 book \"Statistical Methods\" on my bookshelf - I grabbed it after my father died in 1997 - but my Ph.D. thesis credits W.C. Hamilton\'s 1964 \"Statistics in Physical Science\" which I found and read in the Physics Library at Melbourne. The Chemistry library didn\'t have anything as useful.

I could have asked my wife - she had been known to give lectures on statistical methods for psychologists to undergraduate classes - but they deal with rather different data.

Produce the statistics or APOLOGIZE for telling me to do the same!!!!!

I did produce the statistics, and you can\'t recognise them as statistics. That\'s your problem, not mine. If you weren\'t quite as obviously stupid as you are. I could castigate you for lying, but as it is I\'m obliged to commiserate with your friends and family (if any of them are still talking to you).

BZZZZZZ - WRONG - you DID NOT produce ANY statistics, dork.

presented the statistics you asked for. The fact that you can\'t recognise them as what you asked for makes you the dork here.
