Jaffa cakes? What are those?

A type of biscuit.
Soft base, chocolate coating, and orange flavoured jelly like centre.

Peanut butter on that sounds kind of over the top to me. I'm just a
purist, I guess: the best substrate for serving peanut butter is a
finger.

I've always used a spoon. I know where that finger's been.

Me too... nothing quite like spooning peanut butter straight from the
jar ;-)

Try Dick Smith or Sanitarium.

What really pisses me off there is no way to know if it is imported or
Australian peanuts.
Who realy cares, just so long as it doesn't turn to oil. It all tastes
the same in the end.

Grind your own in a kitchen blender. All it takes is a bag of
unsalted peanuts.

Like peanut butter! Depending on the result, perhaps you should
add a (very) tiny bit of water or oil.

Commercial peanut butters add "sugar, fully hydrogenated vegetable oil ...,
and corn syrup." (Stater Bros.Creamy Peanut Butter). The "organic" penaut
butter available form Henry's Market (no relation) across the street form
Stater Bros. add nothing, but you have to stir the oil back into the butter
everytime you open the jar.

Peanut production is limited by the Department of Agriculture, a remnant of
Depression-era farm support programs. Grow them at your own peril.

You need a quots from the government.

They aren't giving out any more, since they guarantee a price way above the
world market price.

BS. You can grow ANY crop for your own consumption. Commercial
production is limited to coincide with price supports. All of which I
think should be terminated.

I agree. But commercial production is not limited. The DofA guarantees to
buy all the quota at a high subsidized price. Production beyond the quota
must be destroyed.

Most of the agricultural quota/subsidy programs originatd in the Depression
have been eliminated or rationalized. The peanut program rides on
unaltered.

The one that really galls me is tobacco price supports. Out of one
corner of our mouth we declare tobacco unsafe, yet continue to give
price supports to the tobacco farmers.

I am quite a fan of the old 'dick cheese' on nabisco crackers.

http://www.dicksmithfoods.com.au/dsf/index.php?d=products&p=cheese_spread

I am a bit partial to the ol' Dick, he was a pioneer in the electonics
hobbiest industry in AU, and over the last few years has decided to
start selling a range of 100% AU foods. He has a damn fine Dick PB
too. People may also know of him through his 'around the world' solo
hot air balloon attemps.

Did you ever put PB on a dog's nose? (They really don't mind. It only
makes them cross-eyed for a short time.)

For a more profound effect, put plenty of PB on one slice of bread. Give it
to a dog, PB side up. It will stick to the roof of his mouth and keep him
joyfully entertained for quite some time.
