Zenith Television malfunction Green background with stripes

Can someone help me diagnose what is wrong with my 1989 Zenith
television. The color is geen, but you can see the picture which is
slightly blurred. And it has horizonel white stripes going through
it. Is this a tube problem? If it is a tube problem, can I buy a
replacement tube? Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Very probable your old Zenith has suffered castrophic failure, most likely
the crt but also could be in the video or bias circuits. Since you did not
post a model number this is the only generic Zenith info I can render.

Quite possibly a tube problem but one that can be worked around for
almost no cost.

In addition to my other post, I should add that isolating the CRT filaments on
a Zenith with a similar problem allowed the TV to run for another 5 years
and it was only then tossed due to other problems which I was too lazy
to look at. :)
