Thanks a lot budgie, nice to see a sensible helpful person
in this forum.

There are a few - even Phyllis can be when he's in the mood.

I'd forgotten thet were also called a "fish" - thanks whoever
reminded me.

** The only problem is you are BOTH in the wrong forum.

This is not a sparkie's NG.

Well... maybe not, strictly speaking, but it's close enough and
I don't think there is an aus.electrical or similar newsgroup is
there?

Hi Mike,

I see you arch enemy is still trolling this newsgroup. :( Someone must have
given him some Duracells or Eveready Energizers for Christmas. Pity they
weren't installed the wrong way round and gave him an internal meltdown.
Not that it would probably make much difference. I reckon he's either had a
short circuit or a set of crossed wires for some time now.

He has infected so may others with his garbage posts it has reached plague
proportions.

Over in rec.audio.pro Phil is as maligned there as he is here. A regular of
that NG posted a message after an absence of about 6 months asking if he had
missed anything and this was one of the responses -

In addition to thousands of OT political posts, immature flame wars,
and incredibly wrong advice from people who do not know what they are
talking about, we have a new resident @$$#0<3, Phil Allison.

Willie K. Yee, M.D. http://users.bestweb.net/~wkyee
Developer of Problem Knowledge Couplers for Psychiatry http://www.pkc.com
Webmaster and Guitarist for the Big Blue Big Band
http://www.bigbluebigband.org
Needless to say the "@$$#0<3" needs no further explanation :)

Phil's ill reputation precedes him everywhere he goes.

I'll just raise my umbrella as you know who is about to puke.

Cheers,
Alan

So Phil Allison the "toaster tech"! You are less than a garbage collector -
you distribute it!

Well... maybe not, strictly speaking, but it's close enough

** What ?????

So this fucking idiot Harding thinks "electronics" is the same as bloody
wire tugging ???
The only "tugging" going on around here Phil is by you!

Explains a real lot about him !!!

and I don't think there is an aus.electrical or similar newsgroup is
there?

** Bad fucking luck - that does not entitle them to invade this one.
Prized comment coming from the "one" who has infected just about everyother
newsgroup with all those austistic comments and pig ignorant obscentities.

The pricks are all ignorant, semi-literate arseholes anyhow.
The above describes you Phil Allison to a T. Take a look in the mirror if
you dare. Heaven only knows everyone else sees just how you aptly match
this description by just taking a quick read of your stupid posts.

............. Phil
That Tourette's still worrying you? I told you to get help, but you just
won't listen will you.

Cheers,
Alan

Thanks a lot for the info, nice to see there's still some sensible
people around.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

**Most electricians simply use a hunk of 'yellow tongue', from tongue and
groove floorboards. Drill a hole in one end and away you go. Cheap and
cheerful. If you must spend money, pop down to your local electrical
wholesale outlet (John R Turk, et al) and pay money.

Didn't realise it until after I'd posted the URL, but that is Mac-attack.
Typical mac stuff - short arms, tight fists, deep pockets. Check the local elec
wholesalers, they may be as cheap.

They also come in different lengths, so you need to have an idea which length is
going to meet your requirements. Long ones are a PITA to use on a short conduit
run, but short ones are worse on a long run.

There are two types - a tape type and one which is a helical spring over a
single strand spring steel core. I have the altter. Each has its own failure
mode.

What is a Elecrician's snake?

Long length of steel tape, rolled up inside a reel
Fibreglass maybe preferred - it's insulated.

And most are not cheap. a couple of hundred.

Very similar, in fact to those used by electricians.
