Don't expect it to be any better than a polygraph, which is
a long ways from ideal as it is. I've seen the vocal anlyzer in
action, and it's a lot like reading tea leaves. The subject was
on tape, a teenager who claimed to have had a "close encounter"
with a UFO occupant. (And just in case you are a true believer in
this sort of stuff, the kid's confederate later confessed to the
whole hoax.) Anyway, the analyst, who had gone through a
week-long training course on the equipment, which was an
expensive professional model targetted for police departments,
couldn't render much of a verdict on the kid's story... but then the
kid's old man started hollering at him in the the recording, and the
kid's stressed response to that was the only reading the analyst was
confident of: Pure panic, whereas being chased by metallic aliens
never phased him in the least!
