Well if it's possible i would make one.
I'm very good skinned as electronic handy man , but i can't know how to make

Can someone help me?
And if someone got an old eprom programmer let me know!
The old Needhams PB10 programmer will work but requires an ISA slot on
the computer so newer computers can not be used for the PB10. I ran
into a similar situation but was trying to read and program 1702A
eproms. I ended up getting a Data I/O model 29B programmer (think the
model 22 will work too) on ebay. The programmers were cheap but if
getting them on ebay buyer beware. Anyway the Data I/O 29 and 22's
will read and program the 2708 and others provided that you have the
correct personality module. My 29B has the Unipack which has sevaral
different sockets that allow me to read various chips. You have to
set up the programmer for the chip you are reading and then put it in
the correct socket. If your computer has a serial port then you can
upload the hex file for the chip that you just read to your computer
and program other chips. If that is not an option then you might read
the 2708 then program a newer chip (like a 2716) and then read that on
a programmer that does talk to your computer as 2716 programmers were
very popular as DIY projects in the late 70's and through the 80's and
most programmers read the 2716 and up.

I hope that helps.

Do you remember looking at the 4-63 volt, 3300uf caps in your 700D? I just
replaced the banana jack on mine and those 4 caps looked like the tops
were puffed. I pulled the top off one and there is a convexed steel cap
over the actual can under the heat shrink that makes these look domed. And
they appear also to run pretty warm discoloring the white glue used to
bond them to the pcb. The amp works fine otherwise and I've never had any
problems with it. It was formerly used to power A/V sub-woofers and had
been left on continuously for a couple years. Next trip to the electronics
shop will probably yield a new set just for my piece of mind.

I was beginning to think my posts were not making it out there until I
saw your reply (Arfa was right about the Virgin Media news server being
troublesome!)

I don't remember looking closely but I don't think they were
particularly domed.  It was at least 2 years ago when it died.  I do
remember that everything looked very clean in there.  The amp had an
easy life in a church install but for some reason the power transformer
got shorted on the primary thus blowing the mains fuse every time.
Since it was a custom part I enquired with Toroid International about
purchasing a replacement but it would have cost about Ł150 as I guess
they were not making these in volume any more.  When I saw that I could
just replace the whole amp for the same money it was a no-brainer.

One reason I like the 700D is that the cooling system is efficient and the
fan had infinite control. It is as quiet as a mouse until you started to
drive it. It also draws fresh air directly through the front through a
foam cell filter and through a heat sink tunnel and doesn't expose the
entire amp to forced air dust and other contaminates. Mine suffered a fall
while in a rack which broke the A channel banana jack off or I wouldn't
have ever noticed those 4 caps. They're not big enough physically to be
for rail currents so they must serve some other purpose in the driver
stage?? Here is a recent pic of my 700D in the rack that fell over. Lucky
all the other equipment wasn't in the rack when it fell backwards.

Below the Crown amp is a rare Sound Code Systems 2350A MOS-FET amp someone
gave me after they couldn't find anyone to repair it back in 1998. It
needed a new set of outputs 2SK134/2SJ49 TO3 case that had been
discontinued and unavailable at the time. I did find a set on the internet
and repaired the amp successfully. It's been used on and off as a source
for 18" subs in a tri-amped band PA setup since then without any problems.
It too is a quiet amp having a similar cooling system to the 700D. It's
heat sink includes a bristled radiator which is unique.- Dölj citerad text -

The Mackie amp was repaired. A tiny tiny pcb trace/via hole for one of
the predrivers were open circuit.
This happened probably when the drivers shorted. Now everything's
OK!

There's something very strange I just came across.

One eBay member whose ID I won't make public here has a 53 Feedback rating,
100 percent positive.

But looking at his Feedback listings, 6 out of those 53 people he either
bought from or sold to who gave him Feedback are now "no longer registered
users", a.k.a. have had their accounts suspended.

I had emailed him about shipping on one of his auctions and received
a reply only long after the auction closed, on June 2. I presume that
emailing via the eBay form would include some information on my address
so he could calculate shipping if needed, in other words, contact
information that might be used to try to open a new account.

And for those saying it was phishing again, there were no links in the email.

Contact me off this forum if you'd like more details.

I haven't opened mine to look but I've heard some say
that they are copies of an old Crest design.

I doubt that on account of the fact that Crests are massively overengineered as a rule
(nhence expensive to build). Far more likely another QSC ripoff. If the output
transistors' collectors are grounded it's almost a dead cert.

This is a final report on this problem.

I believe it was actually the solder connections to the PCB and not the
relay contacts themselves.

Kenwood actually provided easy acces to the bottom of the PCB. A large
square section was partially punched out with only 4 thin metal strips
holding it in place. So, cutting two on one side allowed the relevant
part of the botton plate to be swung out of the way exposing everything
but the AC line circuitry.

When duplicating the erratic behavior, gently touching one of the relay
pins would make the sound come and go. While there was no visible crack,
the relay's solder terminals are physically the stationary
contacts. So, the constant pounding over the years must have loosened
at least one of them just enough to make marginal contact with the solder
on this single-sided PCB.

I removed the relay entirely and inspected the interior. The contact points
were in perfect condition with no sign of wear or burning.

After reinstalling the relay, the receiver has been 100 percent reliable.

Thanks to all who replied.

You may soon have another way to contact and possibly yell at eBay.
They just sent me an "invitation" email annoucing:

Only invited members like you will be able to call our new number.
To access this faster service, you'll need to set up a PIN in My
eBay. Also be sure to add your current phone number to your profile.

Then, you'll be all set to go on June 16.

For some unknown reason, I guess it's a big secret. If you didn't get
an "invitation" I guess you're on eBay black list. My guess(tm) is
that I'll end up talking to a humanoid robot, reading from a script,
and talking in boilerplate. Kinda like a verbal version of your email
exchange with eBay support.

I got that same email. I assumed it was another fraud scheme and
erased it. I only respond to ebay messages which come up on "my ebay"
after I've logged in to ebay. I NEVER to messages sent by email if they
have any "click buttons" to redirect or download information. Anyone
can send email and make it look like it came from any URL by name or IP
number. Yes, ebay security sucks, but it's probably no worse than
shopping at the average mall. You can get pickpocketed there too.
That said I only buy on ebay and have over 1000 transaction. So far
I've saved a lot more than I lost on a few bum deals. I the seller says
"untested" or "as is" you can be sure equipment is junk.

Assumption, the mother of all screwups.

It's apparently for real. I verified that the email header looked
correct. I checked that the URL pointed to ebay.com and not somewhere
else. There was also a copy of the message in my eBay Message
mailbox. Good enough for me.

I read the instructions and manually went to My Account to register
the PIN number. Unless I totally screwed up, the procedure looked
correct. However, I'll have to wait 8 days to see if it works. So
far, eBay has not sent me a telephone number to use. I can't wait to
unload my frustrations on whomever will answer and pretend to listen.

Hi Sam,

Well I have gotten a lot of those my self however I don't have an Ebay
account (LOL)
I am afraid that you have gotten caught by the Ebay Proxy letter. It is sent
with the intent
to be able to intercept your PayPal username and password that gives the
sender the chance
to empty your account....

You should change your password right now!!! but other wise ignore it as
Ebay did not send it. I could tell you for sure if I had a copy of your
letter ( The first one ).
Has anyone actually read what I wrote in the linked page? :)

Every email I received from eBay was also present in "My Messages" on
"My eBay". And my account had indeed been suspended *before* I contacted
eBay about this mess.

Now is it possible I replied to some email awhile ago that triggered this?
I suppose it's possible, but highly unlikely.

This was not a phishing scheme, at least not one from outside eBay.

Same here. If I want one of something old, I'll usually buy three of
them for parts. For example:
<http://802.11junk.com/jeffl/pics/home/slides/BL-shop5.html>
There are 3ea Wavetek/SSI 3000B service monitors and 3ea HP 8620A
sweepers. Similarly, I also have 3 almost identical frequency
counters, RF generators, and assorted oscilloscopes. I find it better
to have the spare parts than to have one "tested and calibrated"
overpriced piece of test equipment. My guess is that I've bought
about 150 assorted pieces of test equipment on eBay over the years.
Perhaps 3-5 were not quite what the vendor was advertising. I had
one complex hassle when an allegedly working frequency counter arrived
displaying error messages. I really wanted it, so I just downloaded
the manual and fixed it myself.

However, as-is and untested is not for everyone. I actually enjoy
fixing things which makes such purchases practical. For example, all
3 of the HP 8620 sweep generators came with very sticky controls and
knobs. The grease had dried out in the controls and was adding
considerable friction. I tore the front panel apart, lubed
everything, and all the knobs now move like new. If one can't do
simple repairs like that, as-is and untested is not a good idea.
