ultrasonic mister

I am wondering if it is possible to operate a 24vdc mister on 12vdc?

Something simalar to this:

Item: MDC01; DC powered mist maker
Transformer Input: AC110V; Output: DC24V
UL. CUL. listed. Fogger size 1.5"(dia) x 1.25"(h),
great for small shallow water container.

I've been doing a little reading on what it takes to run the piezo
element and the oscillator circuits and I'm not very knowledgeable
with circuits and I'm not sure if these will work on 12v.

Probably not. Why do you want to run it from 12V anyway?

Make your self a simple voltage double circuit!

That is, if you're up to it.

A complemary pair of Power Logic Fets being driven from
some simple square wave oscillator like a 555 timer should
do it, along with the proper diode and cap configuration of course.

I've done this before running low demand devices that were
24V dc, in the car.

I used the output as part of the gate driving voltage so the
initial start up was a soft ramp to 24 volts but it made it easy
to supply the needed voltage to the gates of the fets.


The last one I did used a small pic to monitor the current load
in a battery charger for an HT that has a 12 volt battery pack in it.

A charge pump booster as the charger .. word out well actually.

So I can run it off a 12V battery. I suppose I could pick up a DC/DC
step-up, or just keep looking for a 12vdc mister, but most of them are
24V and 36V AC, and I'm not really up to wiring on up and getting one
that works. It doesn't need to be like the one shown I would prefer
one that I could build into a reservoir like the ones in a ultrasonic
humidifier.

You could run it off of two 12V batteries connected in series.
