I now have the 3601 pinout, however, no way to get the 3602 one.
The Texas collection doesn't include a 512*4 PROM (only a 512*8).
I could trick with the two "Enable" pins of the 3601, supposing one was
suppressed in the 3602 to serve as A8 address line, but I'm not sure whether
all other pins remained unchanged.

Anybody can scan his TI Data Catalog for the 3602 (pinout, voltages) ?
I did scan it from the Intel catalog but the second e-mail was
refused by your mailserver :)

Thanks for the suggestion. The opening doesn't appear to be so
intricate as to require a spline wrench. Dad had a number of Allen
wrench sets, in pouches and on rings. Hopefully, he still has them and
one of them will do the trick. Either way, I'll be back!

Hello,

My father owns a few resturaunts and these use 70V commercial sound
systems for the background music. In one of his stores, the speakers
are making a crackling or popping sound all of a sudden. He asked me
to change 3 speakers (they were in quiet areas where it was most
noticeable so he thought that was all it was) and the problem is
still there, even in the new speakers. I started suspecting the 70V
amplifier. He had a spare one, though it was used and about as old,
so I installed that one to see if there was a difference. The
crackling was still present. Anyone have any ideas what to check
for?

So far, I have tried:
replacing a few speakers
tried a different, but not new, 70V amplifier
tried different wattage settings at the speakers
tried to adjust the volumes on both amp and source
balanced bass and treble

None of this seems to work. I do have an oscilloscope
and know how to use it, but have not had a chance to
bring that with me and look at the signals. Any suggestions?

Scott
First, what brand and model of unit are you using?
And i hope your not going to say radio shack.
It pays to get a high quality commercial unit.

The total number of all the taps must not exceed the amplifiers rated
outputs. Many non knowing people hang a 8 ohm speaker on to a 70 volt
line and wonder why the system went to hell. You can measure this system
load at the amp, but you need an impedance meter. A DVM will NOT do
this. Something like a TOA ZM 104 will. How many speakers?
what are there taps? do they ALL have line transformers on them?

Now, i have run into a situation like yours with a satellite receiver.
There was a grounding issue between the two units. The units needed
transformerisolation between them to float the audio grounds to solve
the problem.

Bob

I've put the Monolithic Memories 63xx family datasheet on
<ftp://ftp.eskimo.com/u/m/mzenier/MMI63xx.pdf>
That should give you the 6305 pinout.

My TV blew a fuse and when replaced, it does the same thing. I
noticed the fuse is on the first thing the powercord connects to
(the power supply or transformer or whatever it's called). I'm
not an electronics person at all but my senses tell me it must be
that powersupply thing. I'd just like to know if it could be a
part that comes aftet that powersupply before I try to replace it
only to find out if I wasted my money.

..thanks
Something is obviously shorted, it could be something in the power supply or
it could be something after it, and without a model and chassis number
nobody is going to be able to help you beyond that. I can virtually assure
you that the problem is beyond your ability to repair and would be better
handled by an experienced technician.

I wish we could return it...but We ordered it through a promotion at my
husbands job. It was from a catalog of awards that you could purchase
using points you earned so there is no retailer to work with. I might
have to look into a lawyer because i'm getting nowhere with samsung.
Thanks!

Well, whoever arranged the promotion at your husband's job might be able to
contact the promo company and make them get the lead out. At the very
least, your husband's company should be made aware that you haven't been
well-served by them. The threat of no future use may be enough.

MAT Electronics and Suburban Electronics typically have several types of
universal remotes at discount (below $5.00) prices. Don't know if they'll ship
to Canada, though.

It's because more men than women post irrelevant drivel to newsgroups
that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject and some reader
gets angry enough to find them.

Does anyone know where I can buy a large bunch (20 or more) of cheap
universal remotes, at wholesale prices? Just looking for average
universale
like One For All, RCA Systemlink, etc. I see a few lots on Ebay but the
sellers won't ship to Canada.
Thanks.

http://www.moteva.com/ Stocks a large variety of remotes, and will ship
worldwide.

Just because you didn't pay for it doesn't mean you're out of luck.

We have the same type of promotion plan where I work. I know that our HR
department would be more than happy to mediate this type of problem. In
fact, we had one employee receive a $1000 grandfather clock that was badly
damaged in shipping. The promotion company arranged pickup of the damaged
one and shipped a replacement no questions asked.

It was a hard decision, but I think 4 was the winner. I did like 1 and
5 as close runners-up:)

No replies, so I'm doing a shameless bump. Any techs to recommend in
the Atlanta area? I've already been taken to the cleaners twice this
month on car and appliance repairs, I really don't need to do it again
with VCR repair ...

Most makers are dropping support after 5 years now. But a lot
of sets that age are dying and being salvaged, so if you post
here and in other forums, there is a chance someone has one
collecting dust that died for some other reason.

As far as I know getting this board is probably next to impossible.

Hi Doug,

The part itself is broken. The little metal pin inside the jack is
broken off (the kids put too much tension on the adapter plug while
watching a Disney film in the car).

Thanks for the Cyberhome number, I'll try it.

Best Regards,

David Montgomery

Hi Dave,

Just checked the new CES directory, and they have a different number
listed. It's 510-226-2723.

Good Luck,
