Tonight on TT they are running a story on how
static electricity on your clothing can cause a
petrol pump at a petrol station to blow up....

Have they been watching Mythbusters?

Didn't ACA run this story last night, or is it tonight?
They also featured it as an "Exclusive" I believe.
Tonight.. Well, it's last night now.

It was TT. Didn't watch it, but kept hearing promos for it on radio,
whilst at the petrol station.
No, it was both TT and ACA.

"Most of the time the static electricity is caused when you get into
your car while refuelling". Yes, might be true in the USA but in
Australia they take off the little latch that allows you to leave the
nozzle unattended.
Not in all servos here in Oz. Also, there are ways to fudge it if you
don't really want to hold the trigger.

I haven't seen a servo yet where it hasn't been removed. It's illegal to
leave them on. Yes I know you can get around it, as I stated, but people who
do that are the sort of people who want to be lown up.

This bullshit was on Media Watch about three years ago only they were
talking about static from Mobile phones.

Mine has 4, and a turbine on it to suck in the cold air real quick...:

Helps to put out the fire....
Mine has only 2, one for each rotor, and 2 special turbines. It throws
flames out the back on occasion as well.

Loved the host saying "static causes even more explosions than mobile
phones" at the start, and then the segment goes on to say mobile phone
don't do anything.
ROFL!

Yeah exactly..what an idiot!

And later on in another story they were whining about the Americanisms
creaping into our language and their stupid reporter in the exploding
servo
story referred to "gassing up" a car (i.e. filling it with petrol)

Look, another Americanism has crept in above.
Thought they would be whinging if they were Australians........

The only person at risk of catching fire at a servo is Naomi with all
that fucking hair spray she wears.

Next week they are having a story about full-strength beer being more
prone to ignite due to its high alcohol content

But also showing the upside whereby ugly chicks are more likely to get
laid......
