ipcbeginprocess

Chinni,

Apparently you want to highlight multiple nodes after a successful
assura LVS. To achieve this,
1- you do not need perl. This can be done 100% from within SKILL.
2- you do not need to stream out or stream in. This can be done in the
'design framework 2' database format.

That should simplify your solution. So drop the perl script, go in the
assura and skill manual, and do this from scratch. You ll be better off.

If you want to program, you will most likely have to interact with
english speaking people. It will be a better investment for you to learn
english rather than yet another programming language or electronic
design technique.

To those in the group who get so quickly offended by poor language, I
wish they get one day faced with the necessity to relocate and learn a
completely alien language in a matter of months. An then meet the blokes
with no patience who get oh-so-offended by misuse of their beautiful
native tongue.

Programming is probably not the problem. The problem is to communicate a
prolem in a way that is as readable as possible.

I just want to comment on this:
With respect to this thread, as far as I can see, it is not the problem of
somebody who has been forced to move from China or India to USA to work,
but rather somebody who has clear knowledge of how the language sounds,
since he is texting the sounds used when speaking the language. That is not
learned in english classes, but rather on the street and in SMS.

Frederic,

I don't get offended by poor English. I do however get offended when I ask
somebody to take a bit more effort to describe their problem clearly, and then
they carry on regardless, being vague and not describing what their real problem
is. It irritates me when people use "texting" speak - especially as it makes
what started off as poor English even harder to read - but I can live with that
if they actually make it possible for somebody else to understand what they
are asking.

If I got quickly offended by poor English I would have a very hard time working
in customer support! (some of the worst English I see is from native English
speakers ;-> )

Andrew,

I am going to move to Berkshire meself, and there are people around there who
I can not grasp at all. Apparently some accent|dialect of south London. That
gets me a tad worried ; and I wonder wether there are schools that teach it.

The CDS.log file is your template file. Just perform the operations you want
to script (highligting nodes, and then look in there.
Be careful, though: the CDS.log will contains
1- private functions
2- interactive functions

And you should avoid these else your script will not be robust and free of
popups .
If the cadence help does not document a function, it is private. The
interactive functions are listed in the 'user interface skill functions
reference', and the procedural equivalents are given.
