It is a breakthrough in miniaturization of the technology:

And the connection to space is.....?
...

Why they want it:

Cheng added that the success offers new methods for in-orbit health
monitoring of astronauts at the cellular and molecular levels and
provides vital technical means for the country to carry out in-orbit
brain science research in the future.

Right, IOW just coolness in the attempt to deflect attention from the
iterated massive failures of the CCP.

Who is \"they\" ?

The USA has many competing cities, states, corporations,
organizations, and political parties. Nobody is in charge, which is
why it works so well.

Works so well? Are you aware U.S. can\'t even hold on to last place in quality of life?

U.S. can\'t even compete with Slovenia...you have to go to Serbia to get much worse than U.S.

Life is pretty good here. We don\'t have a war going like some places I could name.

You don\'t need one. Americans pop out and shoot one another at regular intervals, and the National rifle Association gets upset if homicidal maniacs can\'t buy all the guns they want.

US is just the Mafia, gives you protection if you pay (buy their crap weapons).

Europe doesn\'t pay enough for its own defense. The US has defended Europe from the Russians since 1945 and it ain\'t over yet.

The US has claimed to be defending Europe from the Russians since 1948, not that the Russians have attacked any of them them since then.
You need to read about protection rackets.

The US military-industrial complex is in the business of getting the US to buy more weapons than it needs, adn it uses its considerable political clout to try get the US the pressure its allies to buy even more of their output.

That\'s one way of looking at it. The history books do concentrate on individuals who were able to persuade lots of others to help them turn those dreams into reality

> The USA hasn\'t done that much, I think because we only allow a president two terms, and because we seem to have an equilibrium between two political parties.

That\'s one way of looking at it. The rest of the world sees the US as dominated by two right-wing parties, one of them currently so right-wing that it seems to be run by people who are clinically insane.

Oh, that has been done, with Cs atoms instead of bubbles.
That gives nice cooled atoms to interrogate, possible to watch
a few of them for a long time. No Cesium fountain required
where the atoms are close to zero speed only at the top
when they switch from ascending to falling down. (on earth)
Having only few atoms reduces the bandfilter flat top when
coupling many resonators.

I was yesterday in a 1:1 copy of the Columbus module of the ISS.
The 19\" racks were replaced by photos. A workplace for 3 people,
but Methinks they better like each other.

I could also take a look into the local control rooms in Munich.
ISS was just in sight, so in that room there was action.
Some astronauts were doing sports, with lunch scheduled next.

There was also action in the control room for twin sats that are
only 400 meters apart and that chase around the earth, creating
a map of the local gravity.

I mean, most of our manned space stuff is silly, but that one is a new
low even for the CCP.

That is certainly true. But every successful hack prompts the developers to block that particular loop-hole. Digging up thirty year old code is digging up stuff that might have worked thirty years ago. It\'s unlikely to work now.

And the quantum computer to run it on?

Look up \'side channel attack\'
Man you really have no experience whatsoever hacking anything.

That is certainly true. But every successful hack prompts the developers to
block that particular loop-hole. Digging up thirty year old code is digging
up stuff that might have worked thirty years ago. It\'s unlikely to work now.
Is much easier now with hundreds if not thousands of sats in low orbit.
You can almost start a chain reaction with a slingshot.

The \"almost\" being as close as Jan Panteltje ever gets to being realistic. He has never hacked anything in orbit, but imagines that it is easy.
