Just a WAG, but could it be a low dropout 3.3V regulator?
It might be anything at all... I _HATE_ that practice of cryptic marking. I
can understand that e.g. SOT-23 doesn't have enough space to put the full
part number but TO252 is big enough to host a small poem.

So this part is not out of some equipment that you are repairing?
No. I simply got several tubes of those as a part of a big lot.

I believe it could be an LD1117BDT33TR LDO 3.3V regulator:

Maybe 13 characters is a little too much for one stanza. ;-)
Yep, it is possible...

Eh, this is a biggest mystery :) They are selling a part exactly like mine
and there is no part No. either...

Thank you anyways, I'll try to burn one... However it doesn't look exactly
right to me because TO252 LD1117 parts from ST have "D" for package code,
not "B"...

See page 3 of the datasheet. Then search for LD33A, LD33B, and LD33D
at usbid.com.

The part number pattern seems pretty convincing to me.

Sorry to thread hijack - we've made some changes to the
DatasheetArchive to allow fulltext searching of all datasheets. It
enables engineers to find a part number from a basic spec and
manufacturer name.

Let me know what you think of this feature. Its new, looking for some
feedback.

First let me thank you for a valuable resource. However, I really miss
your old wildcard search. Nowadays you can only search for "part*"
whereas before you could search for anything containing "part". This
severely hampers searches for ST MOSFETs, for example. These devices
usually drop the ST prefix which now makes them impossible to find in
your database.

One other gripe is that there is no contact information on your web
site which explains why you've come here for feedback. Thirdly, I
would like some way of contributing my own datasheets to your
database, or at least inform you of their existence. And how about a
"most wanted" feature so that users could help each other?

Thanks Franc

The full widcard search was removed only whilst we see how the new
indexing engine copes. part* requires far less processor power than
*part*. We have indexed millions of documents so this slows the server
down significantly.

I've enabled it on the first keyword now so you can dow *part* (only
in the first search search keyword though). This feature will be slow
because of the volume of data it searches.

Anyhow, thanks for the feedback. I'm looking into the other points you
raised. I can easily add a contact us page to start with.

Regards
