Posting on behalf of someone who is trying to source some 12AX7 vacuum
tubes for a guitar amplifier.

He has a preference for old stock as the recently manufactured valves are
apparently noisier or have less pleasant audio response.

Hopefully someone here can help with an Australian source?

Tell him(?) to try practically any music store, and stop imagining things.

online apart from you mentioned about fixing one. Was wondering if u
could give me some more details on it or if you would be able to tell
me where I could get some?

**I have a number of NOS 12AX7 valves. How many do you require?

I managed to score one with a cerwin vega system I bought a while back now and it has just been sitting around gathering dust. Been looking for some info on it for about a year now but have found nothing but this 1 mention. So I got it second hand from sydney with a steal of a deal the previous owner had no idea what he was sitting on got the speakers and this amp. Have powered it up once or twice powers up sounds fine runs really well and pretty loud. I just havnt wanted to use it or push it to much with my speakers due to not knowing any power ratings or other specs. The only marking the amp has is BFA400 professional Mosfet power amplifier a few stickers from an old pro light and sound shop in sydney and is in a ex rental rack case. Runs 2 channel xlr out put. Took the case off to discover J56 and k176 valves and what looks like a very old well built amp. So as I read above that you guys have both worked on very similar amps in the sydney area and if either of you guys could help me find out any more info on this amp it would be much appreciated
