Actually I'm going by my own experience. I've certainly been hurt by
things said on NGs (not this one--yet). Of course it depends on your
definition of "damaged". There are some pretty nasty, personal things
said on NGs, and not all can be forgotten or forgiven.

Too thin skinned? Probably.

Well, since you have opened the door to your own experience, tell me if you
have not had your feelings hurt at every Christmas gathering you have ever
attended. (This is only for illustrative purposes.) Not too unusual an
occurrence. You didn't get the present you had hoped for, or someone got a
bigger piece of pudding, or there was a spat between some relos over nothing
at all really which put a damper on things for a while, and so on. That's
everyone's lot in life - a saga of hurt feelings, real and imagined. Of
course, this is relieved by the many episodes of sheer delight, as you might
also have experienced.

Now, moving to Unsenet, there just is no comparison. As you say, you have
to be thin skinned to he hurt by anything done on a NG, however nasty or
personal it might be. It's not like being hit by a large wave, or a drunk
in a car, or losing a job. And you can always KF the offender, or
retaliate, or mock, or even walk away.

BTW, one case is not "few". Unless you have multiple personalities.

Yes. Worrying, isn't it? I take it that English is a second

Thanks,Brian Goldsmith.

No problem, Brian. I'm sure it will be nice doing business with you.

few = not many

whether he meant "very few" or "a few", probably makes no difference
in actual numbers, but just shows us that the poster has trouble
typing proper English.

Of course it would be a help if the poster could actually construct
his sentences properly,using correct syntax.
But then again on the internet bad english is common.
and of course bad manners is common as well.

Funny how people use bad language, when shown to be
wrong.

Please have the goodness to indicate the "bad manners" and the "bad
language" in any of the above. Could you also indicate how you deduced that
the poster was a "he". You may or may not be correct. My interest is in
the reasoning process. Thank you very much.
you were told in the previous post.If you still don't know what you're
doing wrong after you've been told what you were doing wrong, then you
have more than a mild syntax problem, but a basic comprehension problem
as well.

The"he"context (in terms of using it as a collective noun)
is further proof of your lack of english language training.

any more dumb questions after you've been told the answer and you
should seriously go back to remdial school.
