Seeking SMT RF relay

Hi all,

I'm looking for recommendations for a small 50-ohm RF relay that
doesn't come at a big price. I'm aware of Aromat AJ-series and Omron
G6W series, but these cost too much, in the $100 each region in small
quantites. Ouch.

I don't need things to be good at multi-GHz frequencies, but I do need
good isolation and flat transmission frequency response out to about
400MHz. I'd like DPDT (the sort of thing to switch between an
attenuator and a straight-through path, for example). I'd like to see
70dB isolation between open contacts and between contact sets, out to
400MHz. (The RJ series is about 75dB out to a GHz. The G6W's are
even better than that.) Flatness of insertion loss should have no
more than 0.1dB change over DC-400MHz.

Omron G6Z series do meet these requirements at a very attractive price
(around $5 each), but are only SPDT, and a pair of them takes a bit
more coil drive and board space than I'd really like, so I'm hoping
for a DPDT similar to the G6Z series. Aromat RA series have too
little isolation, only about 30dB across open contacts at 400MHz.

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,
is it for small quantities our production runs ?

For small quantities I've got some some NAIS RK1 12V relays for 1 or 2 euros
pieces.
Those hase 75-80 db@400MHz isolation and 0.04db@400MHz insertion loss.

I got them from ebay and they are used, but I've understood that the guy
have a somewhat continuous supply of those, so it may be OK. If you're
interested I'll look for its email address.

In case he don't have any more and you don't need a full load, I've got 20
of those and I can send you a few. Just tell me.

Thanks,
Fred.

Oups, sorry. I should have better read : RK1 series are SPDT.

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the reply. It's for production, so they have to be new
(and hopefully have a long production life, unlike the ones I have to
replace ;-). Seems like if there's some consumer application that
uses a whole lot of a relay, even if it has some very good RF specs,
the price gets pretty low, but so far there doesn't seem to be
anything driving down the price of the DPDT ones with excellent
isolation. I'm liable to end up with pairs of the SPDT Omron G6Z
ones, which will do the job fine if I can pack them into the alloted
space.

Cheers,
Tom
