I've been looking for a week now and it appears there isn't such a beast on
the net. I've tried all the normal suspect places but it appears that this
doesn't exist...yet I have one on a CPU board manufactured about 20 yrs
ago....

Can anyone help out?

It's a dual polarity tracking voltage regulator @ up to 100mA.
It was produced in two forms of 14 pin DIL and a 10 lead round
TO-5H metal can. Of the 14 pin varieties, one is a 'power' package
and has a metal strap running across the package from pin 1/14
end to 7/8 end. The pinouts are different in both cases.

It has some close cousins - LM325 +/- 15 V and LM326 +/- 12V.
National Semis made them in the 225 etc. and 125 etc. ratings.

However, the 327 (227, 127) are +/- 5Vdc regulators with current
limit and line/load regulation of 0.06%.

Thanks Graham,
Don't suppose you know where a data sheet is for the thing do you?
Appears NS doesn't even acknowledge they existed anymore ;)

They are on page 1-41 of the 1976 Linear devices handbook.

What did you want to know about them? Be sure to identify which type
of 14 pin package you have.

Graham,
After the datasheet for it. Tried checking almost every online source
for this and it appears its a big hole....if you check nat semi none of the
family is even listed anymore. I found an incomplete set for a lm325 but its
missing the Icl curves etc.

If you could scan them or know somewhere online to get it it would be
appreciated.

Interesting I have an 1980 linear book an AN book and its not in either of
these....must have gone obsolete between 76 and 80 ;(

Are you designing with this thing? I thought it was a repair job.

Why can't you replace it with a 78L05 3 terminal regulator and its
negative counterpart?

If you could scan them or know somewhere online to get it it would be
appreciated.
No, I'm not getting drawn into that again! It took me most of a
morning to scan and process a smaller data sheet for someone
else because of the crappy print in the book (why do they use tiny
print on rubbish paper) and that produced a multimegabyte PDF
file which took half the afternoon to upload!

Interesting I have an 1980 linear book an AN book and its not in either

Well the following datasheet says it is for future products so the
writing was on the wall, be it though that it was wrong wall!

Now, you failed to mention which type package you want the info for.

Well, there's gratitude for you. I tell the guy that there are two
14 pin dil packs having different pinouts and he thinks I'm being
sarcastic. I volunteer to look up any info he really wants to know and
he thinks I'm a waste of time.

He top posts (like I have just done because I'm fed up with offering
clues that he should post at the bottom) and thinks the world owes
him a solution.
