Question: I D-subminiature the same as RS-232

In other words, is D-submin the same as, say, the
DB-9's found on the back of PCs for comm 1 & 2?
Or are they smaller?

Yes, the connectors commonly used for RS-232, as well as a lot of
other applications, like the printer port, are all members of the
D-Subminiature family.

The D-Sub family has members with 9, 15, 25, 37, & 50 pins.
