Last time I was looking for PICs, buy.microchip.com was the cheapest - this was for quantity though.

Crownhill list these at Ł6.50.

Realistically, the answer will depend on the quantity involved. Buying
direct from Microchip, is normally the cheapest route once quantities go
over a very few (tens) off. If you are talking at least a hundred off,
expect to get under Ł4.

Thanks for the info - I'm only looking to purchase 50, but even at this
amount Microchip is cheapest.

It's going to depend how many and what's acceptable lead-time.

I use Unique-Memec for Microchip parts (min order value Ł100). Their prices
for 100 PICs are usually about two-thirds of Farnell/RS prices for the same
quantity, but you may have to wait a few weeks for delivery if they are not
ex-stock. BTW they will take credit card orders if you don't want to set up
an account with them.
