OT: Zelensky wants demilitarized zones around Ukraine\'s nuclear power plants...

I\'m wondering whether shelling the plant was intentional, at least at a
high command level. The Russians don\'t seem that competent. I suspect it
was just a mistake.

If I\'m right, a demilitarized zone would be ineffective.

In a war... Disabling a critical resource like energy is a winner.
Remember Star Wars \"Walkers\" taking out the generators? Zelensky condemned
Russia\'s attack on its nuclear power plant. But of course he has troops
trying to protect them.

That\'s the joke... Condemning the enemy for taking out your power plants
is like condemning the enemy for using bullets.

Zelensky wants Ukrainians to take up pitchforks against the Russian army.

He condemns NATO for not implementing a no-fly zone, for not starting
World War III.

He would sacrifice his own people and the whole world to keep his job.
A typical politician.

Of course I can read OT: and I could ignore your rubbish, but it\'s toxic rubbish, and really needs to be sign-posted as such.

You are a dangerous lunatic, and do need to identified as such. That makes you the troll - another fact that you don\'t seem to be able to process.

The problem you present is that you post lies more or less non-stop, but don\'t seem to have enough sense to realise that they are lies.

500 miles DMZ or DHZ would be fine for Putin. (H for Human).

Regarding OTOT (On Title Off Topic), the Ukrainian should have thousands (if not tens of thousands) of Stingers and Javelins by now. However, there are only reports of hundreds of hits. Are they hogging the equipments for later use or resell? Or the hit ratio is really that poor?

People who have a managed to take out a tank or an armoured personnel carrier are a lot more interested in getting away from the area than they are in documenting their success for the benefit of international media.

Basically they are ambush weapons, so you need to have lot spread around in the hope that a tank will come into range of one of them.

If you move them around when there are enemy tanks or aircraft around, a tank or an aircraft is going to take the anti-tank weapon a lot faster than the anti-tank weapon can take out a tank.

I think that it probably was intentional, but not in the way people
think.

The Russians are not nearly as worried about radiation as in the West,
and this has the advantage of terrifying those soft westerners.

Chernobyl is now a large nature preserve, and all the local critters
are doing just fine. Which raises questions about the linear-effect
models of radiation induced morbidity used by western regulatory
agencies - those critters should be in a bad way, but don\'t know it.

The weapons we saw used on that power plant cannot do much to a
reactor - they are *not* fragile. But admin buildings are fragile,
and burn nicely.

When aircraft flies over at low level, you have little time to realise
it\'s coming in which the point your weapon and fire.

Stinger is for Jets. Javelin is for ground vehicles, landing boats and helicopters. You target first, shot it anywhere you want, and run away. More advanced version can also be fired remotely from unmanned launcher. But we probably shouldn\'t tell the enemies too much here.

It was an artillery bombardment, not an air attack. Artillery will not damage those massive concrete structures in the plant. It takes a HUGE amount of HE to break reinforced concrete, and artillery is not it. The whole story is a bunch of mass media hysteria. Artillery is good for destroying all the big transmission distribution network outside of the plant. And that\'s enough. it\'s out of commission either way.

Wired guided anti-tank missiles have been set up so that the operator isn\'t close enough to the launcher to be a target after the missile has been fired for decades now. Even the Russians will know about that.

Fred hasn\'t noticed that it was diesel auxiliary generators that failed at Fukushima, not the containment shell. Mess with a complicated system like a nuclear reactor and the results aren\'t easily predictable.
