If all the immigrants currently trying to illegally enter the UK had the
same imagination, ingenuity and bravery as this guy I personally would
welcome them with open arms.

I was thinking of calling the new model 'V3'.

He might survive falling into the water. Helicopters were on hand to
pull him out.

Powered by kerosene, and still had to refuel halfway across.

Silly.

A lot of peeps probably said the same about Bleriot et al

I though that was a flexible fuel tank, but have not really looked at the design.
Anyone?

I looked up the price, > 6000 USD,? where can I get cheap tax free kerosene locally?
What will happen if I go shopping to the supermarket with it?
Where do I park it so it is not taken by kids for a joy ride?
?

Maybe, but it's still ten miles for a tiny flying item; Israel has a lot of vulnerable border
that just became penetrable in a new way...

That's hardly a practical way to attack Israel. One guy with no
weapons. But he did have two helicopters.

But an interesting variation on suicide mission.

But if there is no passenger then the range would be farther, and it
would be a DIY short range cruise missile.

"They" can buy a better _real_ missile with a big-ass warhead included,
from Iran or somebody, for less money, no "DIY" required

a $250,000 piece of gear with a 50% chance of killing the operator that
can carry about 5lbs of extra cargo seems like a pretty poor financial
decision for a terrorist organization lol

I saw something a while ago about a personal flying device of some sort
- tiny helicopter IIRC. Looked really interesting, so I dug deeper and
found that such vehicles are prohibited from flying over populated
areas. Kinda' rules out use for commuting. Or much of anything, for
that matter. I'm feeling that the hoverboard would be likewise restricted.

Blowing a fan straight down to create lift and propulsion is not very
efficient. That's why airplanes have wings.

And a fan blade isn't a wing?

John Larkin doesn't have much of a grasp of fundamentals.
