OT-- Oddball question, very fine magnetic powder in the air....

I tried to get some pictures under the microscope, they don\'t show a lot,
but here the are, second one is more magnification on the end of a sewing needle.

serious case
try leave this place ASAP to save your health and life

wear face mask

lease large number of magnets and place them everywhere
to collect as much as possible of ferrous dust

and monitor drop in samples collected

every week

don\'t risk your health
don\'t risk your life

We had a coal fired power plant 5.5 miles north of us, but it stopped burning coal 6-1/2 years ago.
I do live near busy 5 lane road.

Ok,
my friend lives 1 mile from the coal fired power plant - I can ask him to make some tests
I can donate a number of hard disk magnets and place them close to busy road for tests.

But if magnetic powder, dust in the air enters your home from outside
just place some magnets outside

Next time we go a week without rain, I\'ll take a big magnet I have and put it in a baggie with rubberband
or some spacer on each end, then take it up where I have a fairly flat metal roof, and drag it all around to see what I get.
Mikek
PS, some of you might try putting a big magnet (maybe wrapped in plastic) in the downspout of your gutters. I don\'t have gutters.

Second one frightens me!
Are you living close to some metal processing industry?
If that stuff is conductive it may well affect some electronics too!

I have read about air pollution on the coast here near a big Tata plant:
https://www.tatasteeleurope.com/construction/sustainability/performance-at-our-sites/ijmuiden
more illnesses there, would not want to live there.

Well that is a big hint to the origin of the stuff!!

It might just be coming from breakfast cereal!

could you use air cleaner for forced air flow
and get some small magnets inserted inside

I plan to insert some magnets into so called air lungs by anti smog campaign, placed in the street.
Forced air flows through the large sheet of while textile, acting as street air filter , made to resemble shape of human\'s lungs.

That\'s cholesterol

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesterol

It isn\'t magnetic. You may get blood clots in the veins and arteries of dead people. Those tend to look black, but they aren\'t magnetic either.

It won\'t. Skybuck is always ignorant and usually wrong - bearing mind that stopped clock is right twice a day.
