I really like this guy (Matthew Tye). He's both talented and
careful--he has a lot of interesting material on living in China, and
I've never seen him go beyond the evidence.

He says "we don't know much"

Accurate. What the CCP also likes doing is fucking with their enemy's
heads; he seems to think they would actually be unhappy about a bunch of
US amateur-conspiracy-theorists thinking up all sorts of things they'll
never be able to prove and posting 'em on the Internet and having Don
Trump repeat them verbatim.

Great! Making the US look like paranoid lunatics throwing accusations
around when they can't even mount an effective response to their own
problems? awesome.

Ironically enough the one Republican who seems to have brushed off the
China-conspiracy-angle somewhat so far seems to be Donald Trump; he may
have inkling conception of how the game is played unlike the bozos he
surrounds himself with.

He wrote a book.

Or someone else wrote a book with something similar to things he said
after he said them. Like Jesus if you think about it!

Anyway here is my conspiracy theory:

all governments lie and all governments know all other governments lie
and they lie about the lies to cover the consequences of their own lies.

The virus perhaps started spreading from multiple vectors
near-simultaneously no "patient 0" will ever be known precisely, or what
its exact point or time of origin was, no law in nature that I know of
that says that's impossible.

If China really wanted someone "scrubbed from the Internet" they would
be scrubbed, some tourist with a YT channel wouldn't be able to discover
evidence of their existence in 5 minute.

Fascinating, huh? Send me money?

Yes he probably understands that you e.g. don't catch your girlfriend
cheating by throwing accusations because you "caught" her talking to a
man you don't know on the phone one time, it just makes you look bad.
you got nothing.

You catch them (if you have a need for the dramatic) by you being
sitting in a chair in the bedroom when she and her paramour enter and
flip on the lights. "Hi, everybody!" as one example.

but this is not exactly a high-bar of "game"

He wrote a book.

He didn't. "The Art of the Deal" was ghost-written.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump:_The_Art_of_the_Deal

The guy who wrote it later suggested that the book should be "recategorized as fiction".

We've told John Larkin this before, but he doesn't seem to have noticed.

The people that looked at the Covid-19 genome said it looked natural, rather than synthetic. The conspiracy theory merchants don't find that persuasive, but they wouldn't let inconvenient facts stand in the way of an attractive conspiracy theory.

Some lab tech could have picked up the virus from one of many samples,
and then gone grocery shopping after work. The lab just increased
bat-to-people interaction.

You've never seen him demonstrate any intelligence either. You don't go into a so-called investigation with a preconceived idea of what happened, and that based on the justification he "just knows China." Then he picks around for hearsay and circumstantial information that supports his preconceived idea without any mention, recognition or consideration of anything that might refute his original preconceived idea. He's basically a joke with arrested development.

Yep- there's another bunch. They start out with the premise Trump can't do anything right, then dig up every bit of misinformation however remotely related to the crisis to "prove" it.

Recently they dug up a U.S. Northern Command report from 2017 "Pandemic Influenza and Infectious Disease Response, Plan 3560", misstated that it predicted the COVID-19 pandemic with near certainty, and that it outlined complete and feasible response by the president. When in fact the plan did no such thing.
https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/covid-military-shortage-pandemic/
Then they're dinging him for "closing" the global health security office, when he did no such thing. It was part of bloated bureaucracy that was consolidated and kept mostly intact, under Bolton.

It is ridiculous to "report" that anyone saw this pandemic coming. What is reported is that the probability of a major pandemic is about 1% in any given year, or once in 100 years. But libtards are not about the truth or fair and balanced reporting; they are about controlling the narrative to spread their ideology. Just read Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky. Rule 11 is:
"If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside."
Note that there is no requirement that the negative be factual.

Well, not in the bio labs I've known. The nearby lab does, however,
offer a coincidence that can fuel rumor, and such a rumor possibility would explain
the early-days suppression of the virus news. Once the officials recognized
the new disease, info flowed freely (because, in a pandemic, that's the safest
way to proceed).

I'd think that free trade across the US-Canada border, in addition to being in accord with
treaty, would also be safest.

More than a coincidence - the bat in question was not sold in the wet market, it came from 600 miles away from samples collected by a researcher at the Wuhan lab.

nuttery has done more to spread liberal ideology than liberals ever

I used to have this wingnut janitor in high school who accused me of not
