Old Radio Resistors

I'm currently restoring an old radio, and the resistors in it are ones
I've never seen before. I need to know how to interpret the value on
these, so I can test them and replace any out of tolerance. Picture:

Also if I need to replace some, what wattage? The radio is about 70
years old, and has 5 valves.

** Go look up " body - end - dot " resistors.

Same colour code as all others.

Dot = number of zeros.

There's some red resistors, these are marked "100 8 A" What value are
these?

** Get your pics right - imbecile.

** That ain't no resistor.

More like a ceramic cap or small inductor.

BTW

You used a Canon A430.

Brilliant for close up shots.

Got one myself.

There are some other resistors, which are somewhat different. I
assume they are read the same as the body end dot versions

Try news:rec.antiques.radio+phono Give them the Brand and Model
numbers and they may be able to help you find a schematic.

Not sure if this site covers only American-made radios, but you may want to
try http://www.nostalgiaair.org/

Good luck.
