I just got a letter redirected from my old place in Strathfield(where
there is already perfectly acceptable adsl X2+)that it is now ready to

Do you have ADSL there?
If not, you might be eligible for the NBN interim satellite service
(which is what I am on).

I do have ADSL, which has software control (by telstra)slowing down
things so to allow for the state of the street cabling, or the distance (Bad line ???)
When first connected it was fast but telstra wont remove the throttling
it has since put on the line (which they did after repairing an
unconnected street fault after lightening.)

I had a Telstra adsl service.
Forget the BS lightning.... Throttling is just what they do.
Get them to release you from the contract and find someone else.

Thats the problem, there is no one else here, otherwise I would have.

http://bc.whirlpool.net

This works better if you append ".au" to the domain name ;-)

Sound advice. There're quite a few Telstra resellers servicing regional
areas, who'll give far better pricing and service (let's face it, you'd be
hard-pressed to get worse service) than Telstra.

I helped a friend set up a connection at Lithgow through ClubTelco a couple
of years ago, and she's paying $60/month for unlimited ADSL2+ and line
rental (although ClubTelco mandates a $50pa "membership" fee). Looking at
Whirlpool's selector, I see there're now many more resellers servicing that
exchange - and I'd suspect those same resellers (or at least most of them)
would be available in your area and happy to move you away from Telstra.

I asked TPG once and they don't offer full service they have something
called off net which costs the same as telstra and is apparently
basically telstra

The area is Couridjah.
I also asked southern phone who keep putting Bumph in the letter box and
they can not do any different to telstra

TPG's ability to massively discount connectivity is based on them using
their own network, so given they're not a big Telstra reseller, when it
comes time to reselling Telstra's services, they can't really offer any sort
of discount.

The ISPs who buy big chunks of wholesale connectivity from Telstra are the
ones to look for.

The area is Couridjah.

More than likely, Telstra's the only one with a DSLAM at the local exchange,
so any ISP offering connectivity there will have to go through them.

Have a look at the http://bc.whirlpool.net.au though - enter your landline
number (so they can determine which exchange you're connected to), and you
can then choose from the plans on offer from ISPs who can provide
connectivity in your area.

Try ClubTelco directly as well - http://www.clubtelco.com/ - as noted above,
their "all in one" package was very well priced for ADSL2+ in a regional
area (for the record, I'm not affiliated with ClubTelco - in fact, I'm a TPG
reseller).

Thanks, but given that you're such a strange person that you whinge about
people apologising to you I'll take your opinion with the pound of salt I
think it's worth.

I didn't whinge about you apologising, just highlighting what it took before
you accepted you were wrong - which you rarely do even when you know your
game is up.

But that has nothing to do with the absurd line of reasoning you have taken
in recent times, which calls into question your sense.

Yes you fucking did. You sooked like a fucking girl, just like you do
about *everything*.

Fair dinkum, Megan Gale would be giving you a gob job and you'd be
whining your guts out.
