Mythbusters has scant regard for proper scientific method. My
overall impression of the show is that it has become a vehicle
for two pyromaniacs looking for excuses to blow things up.

Shame! I was coming to like the show... But if it is a bunch of
bullSh!t I am watching, I have better stuff to do.. like sending
hate mails and flames to newsgroups.

I suggest a technology show based around beer powered devices.

From my reading, Stirling engines are regarded as unsuitable for
intermittent work due to their thermal inertia. If true, then
how did Philips make the engine responsive enough for use in a
bus? Did they use a continuously variable transmission? Hybrid
engine?

See http://travel.howstuffworks.com/stirling-engine4.htm

But think about bumblebee.. "scientific" studies proof that they
could not fly, but luckily them bees never watch MythBusters...
Otherwise, we would never have honey.
I think it was Igor Sikorsky who was supposed to have said that about bumble
bees. Apparently, he was being asked about how he motivated himself in the
face of ridicule from "experts" in the aircraft industry.

I recall reading it in the Reader's Digest some time ago, so it must be true
:)
