Measuring Mains Waveforms with Oscilloscope

"Paul Howard" <
Thank you Mike,

I knew in amongst the usual BS, there would be a good, well written
answer there somewhere.

** And how would know nothing jerk tell that ???

If you hook the ground clip up you'll get a real nice bang as the fuse
in
your fuse box goes bang as well.

**Not necessarily.
Very true, my battery operated scope has no problem with floating
measurements even without going differential.

** I do hope it is one with a metal case and BNC connector which soon gives
you a fatal shock.

Hope all you like Phil, but it's easy enough to check which is neutral, and
just how much above earth it is, before connecting the CRO.
Case is insulated regardless.

** Like the slimy prick always does, TonyP ( aka Trevor, aka roverT )
snipped out the context of my remark so he could deceitfully post another of
his monstrous idiocies as a fake reply.

TonyP is a public menace - what he suggests doing could easily kill you.

Full moon again Phil, or just forgotten to take your meds?

Nothing was snipped that alters the argument in any way and is not readily
available.
Is YOUR memory that short, and just your ability to use google that bad?

Tell us how doing EXACTLY what I have already described is likely to kill
me, any more than any measurement of AC mains?
I guess it just shows you don't know how to be careful. Let's hope you're
the one to get that fatal shock then!

** In relation to measuring mains waveforms that notorious, anonymous
fuckwit who presently dubs himself "TonyP" posted:

" .... my battery operated scope has no problem with floating
measurements even without going differential."

** The above advice is **very dangerous** to NG readers since it
completely fails to specify what sort of "battery operated scope" is being
referred to.

See how Phil the Fool snips all the relevant material to suit his argument,
and screams like a stuck pig when somebody else dares snip his abuse and
irrelevant dribble!

Piss off Phil! I wasn't offering metrology lessons in the first place.

** Nothing relevant was snipped. The type of battery powered scope that is
safe for floating measurements of AC mains has STILL not been specified by
TonyP.

** Since you have none to offer - that is true.

Posting suicidal measurement methods is your line.

Take you own advice anytime - arsehole.

Phyllis just can't control herself sometimes. Mebbe it's always TTOTM.

Just killfile him like nearly everybody else in the group has already done.
