Well http://www.radanpro.com/el/datasheets_lm1.htm claims to have it but
"registration" is required and the registration page wasn't working for me
today.
At http://www.datasheetarchive.com/cgi-bin/search.php?search=lm376 I was
able to get it but their bandwidth leaves a lot to be desired.

The key I've found is to Google for part# + datasheet.

National's web site says "LM376 was an LM305 in a plastic DIP package."
They still have the datasheet on the LM305, although the part is obsolete.

I found the following URL, but the site appears to be down at present.
In any case it appears to confirm your findings.
