Fuck it, i just realised the problem.

** The penny drops ............ clang ....

Gee, i cant wait for that next NSW fuckup that drains all our QLD
grids and forces us into darkness.....

** Now that **really** is funny.

QLD has been living in abject darkness for over 40 years without any help
from NSW.

Bet most banana benders still want to vote for Joe or Pauline at the
upcoming election !!!

Actually, it has been QLD that has been supplying NSW power. A recent
fuckup in a hunter valley switchyard plunged most of QLD into
darkness. All you pricks stole our power.

Joe was alright, Pauline was just a total clusterfuck. How she got
voted in is anyones guess. Actually, you could probably blame the
rednecks from Ipswich for that one.

Fuck off you retartd. There is no punch line. I know you are stupid,
but even a complete retard like yourself should be able to work that
one out. Get a life.

***** Pity that the best your life has to offer is calling people
"retards"!!!
I suspect that it should be you who should get a life or at at the least a
more healthy respect for those people who through no fault of their own
suffer from an affliction.Surely you can explain yourself better than you
did (or perhaps not).

Fart....Fuck me, i gotta learn to export my kill files when I upgrade
my computer next time. Buuurrrpppp.

Anyone in Aus built one of these or know of a suitable schematic.

Seems like a USA Company (Boltek) have a monopoly on this, which is
quite
expensive!

Wayback, Scientific Americans Amateur Scientist column presented a
design.
It used a loop antenna plus a secondary antenna to resolve the 180
degree
ambiguity. Apparently this is a standard RDF technique.

By wayback I'm talking maybe 20 or more years, so be prepared to dig.
Good
luck.

Looks like there are plans/circuits here to build one:

The Great Plains Lightning Locator.

At least if you want South-east Queensland.
I haven't had a look at the site for ages but years ago it was up in
real-time and then they changed the data to being delayed by 5 to 15
minutes.

Don't know if thats still the case. IIRC energex staff get
unrestricted access to it and during major storms the server gets a
little overleaded -- kind of like their call-centre last christmas.
