I get no output. I see no burned componentry or bulging caps.

Balance and mains (on-off) switches/pots working. Jumpers to rear panels
jacks have conductivity and the power-t show no apparent heat/gapping.

What else should I be looking for?

Thanks....

Forgot to mention this is a A/V receiver.

This model really should have a qualified tech working on it.
Having said that, I would look first at the emitter resistor(s) of the
affected channel. If signal is there, then the problem involves the output
relay or possibly solder connections somewhere between there and the output
jacks.
If no signal at the emitter resistor, I would confirm proper base-bias at
those outputs, then start looking elsewhere. The record-out jacks and the
volume control are logical places to look for signal.

If you use Kazaa try searching for RX-V596*.pdf .

You might be surprised.
